Agree. Why the gun and attempted robbery to get POT? Seems to indicate a deeper problem. Out with the bad, in with the good. Move on.

What trouble did he get into in the past?

I don't know man, I've never met a mature/smart 20 year old in my life, but most decent people know that being a stick-up man is bad. Not sure that's so much a matter of maturity, as much as just being a garbage human being.

He was one of the 4-5 guys that got arrested for running away from the cops at a party. Hosey Williams was one of them too but I don't recall the others. Tubby let them all play in that Miam (Oh) game that week.

So the prior coach was an enabler? I hope the new coach sets an example -- if he is found guilty. But, from what I have read so far, the guilty verdict sounds like an almost done deal.

Yeah, his court appointed attorney is not in rescue mode, they are in recovery mode....just trying to get the softest landing possible. This will get pled out.

Aggravated robbery is punishable as a felony of the first degree, which can result in a prison sentence from three to 10 years and/or fines up to $20,000.

He deserves no consideration because he can play football.

Luckily for him, this is a society that doesn't apply "justice" equally. As a wise sage once put it
Quote:You live in a country that doesn't value kindness, hard work or intelligence, but rewards people for lying cheating and backstabbing. Take advantage of that.
Wouldn't be surprised if he got probation/house arrest, did some crying tour to high schools and ended up on the bench at some MAC school in 2-3 years. Then finishing his little bit of playing days without a degree.

Shame, but at least the program wasted no time in saying it's goodbyes to him. In another month or two, no one's going to care.

This is more proof that we need a higher cost of attendance....student athlete couldn't even afford chronic.

By the way....I'd love to hear the tape of the victim calling 911 because people were trying to steal his weed.

RE: Bad News - AeroCat - 07-06-2017 01:49 PM

Quote:The report indicates that Thomas lives in the building where the robbery occurred.

Well, that's pretty bold. Don't all of the athletes live in athletic housing?

GTS posted on the recruiting forum that they're working on it, that's been a common message board issue since Twitter's coding is funky as hell.

I think all football is located in that new building on Short Vine...at the very least that's where all of the freshmen players live. Athlete's lived in CRC and Turner for the longest time, then moved to UPA once the Honors population continue growing.

RE: Bad News - Racinejake - 07-06-2017 02:16 PM

Most athletes moved off campus after their freshman year when I was in school 15 yrs. ago. Not sure if that's still the case. But I lived with a few football players my junior/senior year. Of course the housing situation around UC is so dramatically different now than it was back then also.
