Former La Tech Coach Maxie Lambright Nominated for College Football Hall of Fame - usmbacker - 06-03-2017 11:43 PM
Definitely deserves to be in College Football HOF. USM fans also are proud of Coach Lambright. He played, coached and graduated from Mississippi Southern. Was a great HC at Tech.

Congrats to him on the nomination.
The all time leading rusher at Marshall, Chris Parker was also nominated this year. From 1992-1995 Parker had 1009 carries for 5311 yards and 64 TDs. Parker played 1 year with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Went and looked at Coach Lambright's record. What stood out was from 1971-1975. Impressive....52-6

What I find fascinating is that the first ever DII national championship game featured La Tech and WKU in Cali. Plus one of our DII bowl wins under Lambright was played in Murfreesboro. We also played Boise State and EMU in DII postseason play. Funny how small a world it is.

I was there when he went 44 - 4. Those who saw the games will all agree that the man is a legend. He also designed the state T logo that has been iconic for Tech. Thanks USM for sending us probably the best coach we have ever had.
