With Liberty paying us $1.32 million for the 2018 game, what do you think the guaranteed money we get for games like this should be used for?
Save for the construction of Phase II which expands the new stadium over 30,000
An indoor practice facility?
Cost of Attendance for student athletes?
Increasing coaching salaries?
I think it should be for an indoor practice facility or to move Phase II along.

Give the assistants small raises, help with COA and put the rest toward the new stadium. Keep in mind, while 1.3 million is a lot of money, it doesn't go as far as it used to.

Phase 2 isn't getting built with a $1.32M payday. ODU would have to play four buy games every season for five seasons to even make an appreciable dent in the cost difference between Phase 1 and 2. It'd be like winning 50 bucks in the lottery and using it to get incrementally closer to buying a boat.
Take that money and put it somewhere that it can make an immediate impact. Goose the football coaching salaries. Spend a little more on Karen Barefoot's replacement. Put it aside for a boost in hiring JJ's replacement if it comes to that. Buy games -- football or basketball. COA. And there's a bunch of other options that escape my mind, I'm sure.
Point being, this is a drop in the bucket for Phase 2. That's not going to be 100 percent funded by buy games and donations. Use the money in a way that you can experience benefit right away, or at least in the short-term future.

I dont think anyone is saying $1.32 mil is covering costs for Phase II but you have to start saving that money at some point. And IMO the sooner the better. When Phase II is done it puts us up near the top of the G5 as far as facilities.

I would venture to guess the issues with Phase 2 is more related to demand than costs, but I could be wrong in that. Maybe a combination of both.
