Alum success - Armon Gates - bopol - 03-19-2017 11:14 AM

Northwestern went to the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever this week, which was surprising given their major conference status and former Kent player Armon Gates is one of the team's assistants. I think Gates has a lot of potential as a coach and can definitely see him becoming a head coach somewhere in the next five years.

Lots of former KSU coaches out there; Gates/Northwestern, Mincy/Florida, Haut/Kent, Haynes/Toledo, Ford/Stony Brook, Heath/Boston College, Christian/Boston College.

KSU should never lack for quality coach candidates, when needed.

I Dont think Ford will ever be rehired. Just a feeling I have.

If any coaching position opens up in the near future I really hope we do everything we can to convince Demetric Shaw to begin coaching. Watching his passion and how he interacted with the guys in Cleveland was pretty awesome.

Ironically Coach Ford has fielded at least one interview for a DI head coaching job in Ohio and is rumored to be a candidate for a few others.
