NFL GM: Some "Genuinely Hate" Kaepernick, Others Fear Backlash From Trump Supporters - Kronke - 03-18-2017 03:15 PM

It appears that his NFL career is over.

Quote:Kaepernick has not been linked to any teams since entering free agency last week for the first time in his six-year career.

“Second, some teams fear the backlash from fans after getting him. They think there might be protests or (President) Trump will tweet about the team. I’d say that number is around 10 percent. Then there’s another 10 percent that has a mix of those feelings.

“Third, the rest genuinely hate him and can’t stand what he did [kneeling for the national anthem]. They want nothing to do with him. They won’t move on.

If he were as good as Tom Brady, or hell even as good as he was when Harbaugh was there he'd have zero problem finding work. Whether this existed or not I don't think he'd be getting calls as bad a QB as he is now, it just wouldn't be a story that he's not getting calls.

Yepper. Free to take a stand but others can too. Maybe should've stuck to "playing" football and leaving politics off the field. He's been Kaepernicked. At least now he can kneel all he wants...

An arena football team wouldn't take his ass!

What he did was foolish and the premise was askew, but I don't dislike him for it. There's really no reason to. Someone stepping on my grass is a more egregious violation than a guy sitting and then correcting himself and kneeling before a football game. He's put his money where his mouth is on more than one occasion. Jackie Robinson stated that he could never stand for the national anthem as well.

Maybe the CFL will take him and they won't care if he kneels during O Canada. Hell, PM Trudeau will kneel with him.

I agree with this... If you're awesome then people will put up with your ****. The problem is he has been playing like an average quarterback and nobody will pay you millions and put up with your baggage at the same time.

He needs to accept he is tainted in the NFL and head to Canada, try to make a comeback there. Maybe with a couple of good seasons away from the public eye he can get over the mess he made.

The sentiment behind the protest I got.
The protest itself, I didn't really care for... and, IMO there is a whole can of worms to open if you want to dig into a lot of it
--America offers your the freedom...
--Pledge of Allegiance...
--What do the anthem and the Pledge of allegiance really conflict with based on religious grounds ..and others... when they are in essence what the freedom you have is based on-- does not saying them mean you are not for your freedoms?
--How the US was founded, who founded it, the take over from the Native Americans..
-- Yeah, tons of baggage that get into a loaded argument no matter what side you come down on

Then you get into the player's performance itself... after Harbough and his regime left Kapp has been a fraction of his former self... and really hasn't shown to be back on track to get back to where he was....

Yeah. Probably so. As it is, he doesn't understand he is an entertainer so he shouldn't go giving the middle finger to his paying customers. He's not worth it.

Kapernick's world is not Jackie Robinson's world.

and that's what it comes down to....once you start pining about things outside of your control, that bug in ze head starts to ring, "hey ding dong, stfu and do what you're getting paid to do."

it is at that point it becomes akin to the "yips" in golf....

dem's done.....

If Colin Kapernick was any good, NFL teams would take the risk. The problem is he sucks

I hope someone signs him just so I don't have to listen to the 50 plus female crowd on my Facebook Friends list pretending their boycott of the NFL is what left him without a job, when they have never watched the NFL period to begin with.

He is a putz. No one wants to associate with him.

RE: NFL GM: Some "Genuinely Hate" Kaepernick, Others Fear Backlash From Trump Supporters - UofMstateU - 03-19-2017 10:55 AM

His "protest" was a farce. The reason he was originally sitting his ass down and not standing was because he was getting benched in the preseason in lieu of the new guy. When he got called out for sitting, he came up with the fake reason.

NFL teams are getting smart. They realized what damage this bozo did to the league last year.

So my question to Kapenerick is this: Have blacks suddenly stopped getting oppressed that you dont need to protest anymore? Or is it that you're ok with them being oppressed when it starts affecting your one-percenter paycheck?
