vs. Elon, vs. Towson - SomebodyToLove - 01-26-2017 07:04 PM

Let's keep the home win streak alive if anything.

Need to see a better performance. Maybe have Ford play a little more, see if he can do anything.

Down 24-22 at half. A little sloppy, not getting to the line. Overall we are getting a lot of open looks from 3, but just not hitting. If we have a similar half like that we should win, I expect he hit a higher % than 2-12 in the 2nd half.

oh well

STL......I love your enthusiasm. Keep it up. We don't have the horses this year but next year we'll have both experience and an embarrassment of depth.

But we lose the confidence of TJ and Murphy. I think Begley can be that player, can anyone else? Occeus has shown flashes of swagger at times that I've been liking.

We will have more depth for sure. I'm excited about the incoming class as most of us are. Though we were also really excited for the disappointing sophomore class so far. Either way, there's still half of the CAA season to play, let's take down the tops teams and enter Charleston with some momentum!

NU up 15-12 at the 8min media timeout. Missing some open looks, but good defense has given us the lead up to this point. TJ turning the ball over, need better from him. Boursiquot is so awesome I love watching him play, he missed an easy layup though :-/

RE: vs. Elon, vs. Towson - SomebodyToLove - 01-28-2017 08:40 PM

Hitting some shots now. 11 points in about 90 seconds. TJ with 3 assists I think, Murphy 2 3's, Brace had one. Huskes up 50-45 with 7:29 left.

RE: vs. Elon, vs. Towson - SomebodyToLove - 01-28-2017 08:56 PM

Up 59-52 with 3:27 left and the ball. Let's see this out.

RE: vs. Elon, vs. Towson - SomebodyToLove - 01-28-2017 08:59 PM

Now it's 59-55. Every possession we waited until about 5 seconds left on the shot clock before looking to create something. Terrible game plan. 0 points. Let's look for a good shot here.

Huskies win! 69-62, we actually made some free throws! Nice win, needed that. Hope Boursiquot is okay after hobbling with an ankle injury.

Green played pretty good defense for the most part, but remains a complete question mark on offense. A better performance overall from him though.

It was probably the most important win of the season.

The next three games on the road are tough, @W&M, @JMU and @CofC.

We're getting hit hard with the injury bug too.

Why do you continue to kill Green so much?

I mean what are you expecting? DeMarcus Cousins?

He's a defensive player who gets points on passes in the paint and put backs. He's not polished on offense, but you know what, we don't need him to be. We have enough players who can score.

Miller is a solid offensive player, but is lacking on the defensive end.

They both have two more years to work on those aspects of the game.

Be patient.

I try to be patient. I was really complimenting his defense in my post. I don't think it's a stretch to say he's a question mark offensively when he's scored 6 points total in his last 4 games, averaging 19 minutes a game. I've seen great flashes from Green this season that gets me hopeful for the future. If I was down on Green I'd have said he's useless on offense. I'm just wondering where that player I hope he will become is.

I'm hoping he's gets more tough, and gets more confidence. I saw a few times players grab rebounds away from him the last few games. Maybe the pressure of being the main big man while Miller is injured gets to him, because his stats per minute have suffered since then.

It's also tough for fans going from seasoned seniors in Eatherton and Spencer to growing freshmen and sophomores these last two years.

Anytime good seniors leave it could take a year or two to replace their talents. That's how it goes.

You're hoping Green gets tough? He's tough now and could be a monster when he's a senior. He's way more tougher than Miller in the paint. That goes without saying.

As much as I like Juice, he'll never intimidate anyone in the paint. Green will.

Wiz....not sure I would describe Anthony as "tough" but, leaving that aside, let's give him a chance and see how his first full season plays out and give him..... and all the players on the team..... a grade from A to F when the season is over.
