Since the Sun Belt tried to claim CCU's baseball title before they became a member, The SBC gets no credit for Idaho since you are kicking them out. 02-13-banana

C-USA is 4-3. Looks like you credited them with one of SBC's wins.

Oh please, you were beaten yesterday and miraculously overcame a 24-0 deficit thanks to a blizzard of turnovers by a bad Arkansas team, and now you're all fired up about bowl records? 03-lmfao

Don't forget you were manhandled by a bad Tennessee team when the playoffs were still on the line.

But FWIW, *I* am the one who deserves props here. Alone among just about everyone, my "P5 conference comparison" said that the ACC was the best conference in the regular season this year. NOBODY else had that result, not Massey, not Sagarin, nobody. But I did!

And the bowls are proving it. Congratulations. 07-coffee3

Good call. And congrats to USF on their bowl win.

In looking at every non-power conference that's sent a team to a major bowl the last five years (MAC in 2012 and 2016, AAC in 2013 and 2015, MWC in 2014), each of them had a losing record that bowl season and a 9-23 record overall (I know the AAC had an auto-bid in 2013 but they essentially were the G5 champs before it was formalized, it was already known by that point they were losing their bid). And so while it's a bit of a lame excuse, part of the MAC's winless season has to do with the residual effects of WMU making the Cotton Bowl imo.

If another team was chosen instead of them, we'd have matchups like WMU-App State, Toledo-Troy, Ohio-Old Dominion, and so on. Given how we've lost by five or less points in four of our games in spite of playing up a slot, I'm somewhat inclined to think that under normal circumstances we'd have won two or three games at least. That means nothing really because we knew what we were getting into when WMU accepted the Cotton Bowl and moved teams up, but if the goal of the games is to determine how strong the conferences truly are, you have to take this into consideration every year for the conference that gets a team in the NY6.

Yea, that's true. I'm sure we will have a lot of years in the near future where we get to prove that's the case.

I dunno how much smack I would be talking if I were a fan of a school that held on by the skin of it's teeth in OT against a bad South Carolina team.

Of course, the simple solution to that is to take away the G5 autobid to the NY6. 07-coffee3

We dominated most of that game despite our coaching changes. We weren't gifted the win. 07-coffee3

I knew when we moved to 12 regular season games that the danged bowls were going to multiply. 6-6 schools should never have been considered bowl eligible. The fact that we now qualify 5-7 schools is even worse. What does it prove if you beat a loser? How does it affect your season when you go to a bowl and lose to a loser?

You guys like stats. Take out the 6-6 schools and 5-7 schools and then compare conference records. I don't think the Big 10 should be judged by Indiana (although they acquitted themselves well and really exposed the weakest conference of the year....the PAC). Oklahoma State should have capped the evidence file on that with last night's blowout. But really, take the games that involve teams with winning records, throw out the games where the opponent or both schools were break even or worse and then gauge things. I think that would make for a much fuller comparison that has only been obscured by the money grabbing of many smaller cities that have clamored for December and January revenue for their chambers of commerce.

The only team to allow the putrid South Carolina offense to score more points this year was Western Carolina, the worst team in the SoCon.

This is meaningless outside of the CFP Games...last night "Last Minute Decision" by Jabrill Peppers tilted it and made it plain...these are exhibition games PERIOD-(or at Best Preseason Games for 2017)...doing this to prove which Conference is stronger during Bowl Season is now crazy.

Next year watch more and more decide to just sit out and prepare for the NFL Draft....and I can't blame them...It cost Jaylen Smith $18 Million he will never get back...Great that my Cowboys were able to get him with Zeke and Dak but bad business for him....07-coffee3
