Looking at the roster and the players already committed in this class, I think Eastern is okay at most positions. The biggest remaining needs are tight end and running back. Eastern is overdue for landing a premier back, a kid that can potentially be all conference. This team needs Playmakers.

Hope he is an explosive back. Emu really needs a guy like that. When is the last time there was a back that could go out and get 100 + yards a game consistently or 1000 + yards in a season? I think it's been a long time. Not going to go far when you consistently have one of the worst running attacks in the league.

How the heck does a 5'7 158 lb high school option QB, who's only other offer was EMU, get a full ride to Virginia Tech???? Somebody really went out on a limb at VaTech. Looks like he got the mysterious 3 star bump a couple weeks after committing to VaTech.
I can see EMU taking a flyer on a really good little athlete from a local power program, but not VaTech. Bring him back home and he can play slot and return kicks!

A lot of the Power 5 team will sign most or all of their players on the early signing day period which starts on 12-20. A team like EMU can get some guys on the Feb, NSD that were left out by the Power 5 programs.

Sounds like a Dec '17 grad. Appears to be a California guy. With his size he sounds a lot like a TE who can do a lot on inline blocking. They can set him in the backfield off the OT like we do with Robinson and use him to block.

One thing which hasn't been discussed is how this effect a lot of bowl teams (looking at you, MAC) which has their bowl game early in the bowl season (unfortunately, not a problem for EMU this year). Can you imagine playing a bowl game on Dec 16, the third and final recruiting weekend before the 'early' signing period? How does a school host recruits if the coaching staff is at a bowl game????

Also, this really places a lot of pressure on teams to lock up as many recruits as possible during the 3 recruiting visit weekends in Dec (Dec 2, 9, 16).
Does the recruiting coordinator stay behind to coordinate the 3-day signing period while the rest of the coaches are at the bowl site?
BTW, I do like this early signing period. Recruits (and coaches) like the certainty of knowing that the LOI has been signed. It eliminates the process where a recruit flips or a school recruits over a recruiting target.
