It's more a comment from someone who spent 20 years in and around the intel community as a naval officer, asking a question based upon my understanding of how that community works.

What does that mean?

It means WAM has his oats in a lather.

Of all the ridiculous things one might find on this board, your projection of anger in others, when 80% of your posts read like Paul Giamatti's character in Sideways having a drunken breakdown, must rank near the top.

I gotta say, that's a really apt description.

At least here you pulled your head out of your {TURTLESHELL} and denoted something as opposed to your traditional gruel-fest of twitter spamming.

Good for you.

Maybe next week you will learn how to ride a bike.

But if you know Tanq, you realize that he's not angry, that's just the way he is.

I don't think those of you on the left truly understand just how awful many of us think your ideas are. It can't be that we think a democrat takeover of the government at this point would be absolutely, positively disastrous, so the only reason for us to think the way we do is some sort of love for Donald Trump.

Let me be very clear. I don't care for Trump, and in another thread today I have proposed that he be replaced on the ticket. Not because he is a terrible person, but because he might lose, and in my opinion the country cannot stand that.

I know it's hard for you to believe that an intelligent person can say your ideas suck so badly that we need to oppose them in any and all ways possible. But I'm an intelligent person (hey, I went to Rice and even graduated) and that is precisely what I am telling you.

Right now I see the democrats as my enemies, and as the enemies of the USA. If you support the democrats, that makes you my enemy, at least politically. We can still be friends when supporting Rice athletics (if anything is left of them) and we can be social friends, but politically we are enemies.

I think that is how democrats have viewed republicans for some time, and I think it is time for republicans and conservatives and libertarians to fight back. I'm a libertarian, I disagree with Trump on several of his big issues, including the wall (I'd trade the wall for rational immigration policy any day) and tariffs (I'd prefer a consumption tax to level the table). I don't know how I am going to vote this fall. I said Libertarian if I can, Trump if I must. But if Trump needs me to carry Texas, he's dead meat nationally. So right now I'm pretty much leaning Jo Jorgensen (even though her VP running mate is a nutcase).

#s, you have to remember who you are 'engaging' with. (intentional quotes).

You are 'engaging' with the guy whom 90% of his posts are raw, uncommented Twitter links, and the remainder are unadulterated ad hom spews.

Not telling you what to do, but I hate to see anyone (even the WAM) beat on a brick wall with an oven mitt and think they are making headway in making any impression.

I am sure this is trumpbot material:

Quote:"DEVELOPING: An intelligence official with direct knowledge tells CBS News there was an intel collection report and "NSA assesses Report does not match well established and verifiiable Taliban and Haqqani practices" + "lack sufficient reporting to corroborate any links."

The official said the inteligence collection report reached "low levels" NSC but did not go further, not briefed POTUS, or VP because it was deemed "uncorroborated" and "dissent intelligence community."

NBC here reports that officials stated approximately the same, and do not report that Trump ever received any reports.

OMB now how has the Democratic Party equating Fourth of July and Mt Rushmore with (literally, and specifically in quotes) "white supremacy"

The twitter page from the official Twitter page of the Democratic Party has been deleted -- but the Archive lives forever....

Queue up language about you being worked in a lather or something.

More reporting keep corroborating that these reports made it to senior levels, and to the PDB at some point. It seems pretty likely that a POTUS that is notorious for not paying much attention to his PDBs/briefings, ignored this, as opposed to the intel community not pushing it up the ladder.

RE: Trump Administration - Owl 69/70/75 - 06-30-2020 03:16 PM

Here's my best guess of what happened. Some lackey or lackeys deep in the bowels of some intel agency saw something and decided that this was the explanation. He ran it up the chain and got shot down as "unreliable" or "unlikely" or something like that. So he/she/they got pissed off and decided to leak it.

RE: Trump Administration - mrbig - 06-30-2020 04:49 PM

Regarding the reports of Russia paying the Taliban to kill allied (including US) soldiers, quick question for those thinking of voting for Trump in 2020. If it turns out that either of the following is true, would it affect your opinion of Trump enough to possibly dissuade you from voting for him? Obviously, both of these are just possibilities at this time and there are many other possibilities.

1 - this was in one of Trump's PDBs and he either didn't read it, forgot about it, or is now lying about whether it was in his PDB at some point.
2 - Trump learned about this through his PDB or otherwise and did nothing about.
