That's YUGE! ULM was just upgraded to one of the best national universities instead of regional universities by US News and World Report. This after being named a Carnegie Doctoral program. Also, our enrollment is up to 9,115.

A $250/semester student athletics fee would give y'all a ~ $20 million athletic budget. Why don't y'all have football?

RE: Enrollment Numbers are in - RamblinRedWolf44 - 09-16-2016 12:44 PM

We announced at 14,074 I do believe

A 39,714 enrollment at UTA would rank them in the top four in Texas I think. Not sure what Houston's enrollment is for the Fall semester, but North Texas was about 17 students shy of 38,000. UTA has really moved up. Good school. And Texas State has a huge enrollment too!

South Alabama reported 16,691 fall enrollment.

RE: Enrollment Numbers are in - CajunAmos - 09-16-2016 02:45 PM

UL announced 19,188 enrollment with 3024 first time freshmen. Degree seeking enrollment was 17,614. After the first year of increasing entrance requirements in 2012, we've continued to increase enrollment and this years freshmen class is the third largest with the highest GPA (3.39) and ACT Composite score (23.87) with 160 valedictorians. Total enrollment is up 5% since the 2012 standards upgrade. It probably helps that we're listed in the Princeton, Carnegie, and US News & Reports. I'm still hoping we continue to increase our endowments & research numbers as well.

Hopefully UTA will announce plans for a football program by June.

dont hold your breath. uta is adding women's golf and announced that with a 2 year lead time. I would imagine that another women's sport, probably soccer, will have to also be added before football.

Beach volleyball could be added pretty easily - piggy back off of the existing indoor team. A number of schools have done that. A passable court isn't too expensive to construct either.

Ours aren't in yet so far as I've seen. A coach tweeted a couple weeks ago that it was around 40K but the wiki page has 42K; which I think is a bit high unless they're including the Round Rock campus in that.
