(Oh No!) One Sided Battle for the Victory Bell - rath v2.0 - 09-12-2016 02:48 PM

I know this is a week early, but the game time thread got me to thinking...

In honor of Gruhls, a couple tidbits for Miami (Oh No!) since he was so concerned with our tough matchup and getting blown out by Purdon't.

1. UC goes for #11 in a row against the Gang Who Can't Shoot Straight. I only posted the number because after nearly 3 presidential terms of wins in a row, we tend to forget...the wins all start to blur together.

2. Mimi is now 1-2 against FCS schools under Chuck Martin. Let that sink in for a second...1 and friggin' 2...against FCS teams....that they paid said FCS teams as buy games. Great investment, fellas.

3. In year #3 under Martin, Mimi has only won 5 games...the list of scalps of those 5 huge wins?

(AKA murderer's row)

This will be the year we stop being meany-pants and quit toying with the Men of Miami. They have no shot yet we have been good sports about it the past three years. This year we will send all 87 attending RedSquawk fans home wishing they had kept Don Treadwell and his triple option around.

But wait, there's more!

Even Miami (Oh No!) agrees...

Poor little doobler finally gave up tilting at windmills. It's always a little sad to watch the withered, sputtering flame of hope be eternally extinguished. Coming to grips with reality is for the best, though.

Its OK (Oh No!), there's always Mimi basketball season to look forward to....wait. Never mind. 03-lmfao

I guess UC concessions won't have to sell wine and cheese for the Miami game? If not for Big Ben UC
would have won 18 of the last 20. A spanking is well overdue.

RE: (Oh No!) One Sided Battle for the Victory Bell - OKIcat - 09-12-2016 03:32 PM

I think we all felt UC would achieve some separation from Miami with the Big East affiliation and that's exactly what happened. But more puzzling has been an almost total collapse of the Miami football program. They were the cradle of coaches, frequent MAC champions and had often been giant killers in regular season and bowl games against larger, established programs. With that tradition, strong undergraduate reputation and picturesque campus it would seem they were well positioned to dominate the MAC perennially.

Their alumni should rightfully be questioning both their President and athletic department leadership about this sad state of affairs. And with the MAC at the low end of the G5 in terms of revenue, it doesn't look good for the Redhawks to ever be what they once were.

So the biggest threat to UC continuing to dominate the series would be a Bearcat letdown after upsetting Houston. Only UC can beat UC these days when it comes to the game against Miami.

They are a hockey school now.

BGSU, NIU, CMU, Toledo have had some good coaches go through there over the past 10 years, Stolich is a lifer at Ohio. WMU looks like they are back to being dangerous.

It would be nice if UC backed their team It would not even need to be with a great deal of money, recognition would be a start.

Check out the team picture. Do you see a C-Paw or any other UC logo. That is because if the hockey team wants to use the logo, they have to pay UC a royalty to use the trademark. The players pay to play.

I just checked their schedule. It is much better than last year. This team has improved every year since they re-organized. Go check them out. They are pretty entertaining if you like hockey and they serve beer at Sports-Plus.

Hopefully it would at least put a smile on his face.

Now it would...this was the avatar he used on miamihawktalk when he put them all into irreparable Stockholm Syndrome every autumn.

Well at least they're getting a respectable return on investment.

Kudos to this thread. Well done.

As for myself, I'll start bragging when UC has a winning record in the rivalry. By my count that's about 6 years from now.

Rivalry. You're funny.

It's become a rivalry much in the same fashion as Ike and Tina.
