Wonder if Liberty will stay involved as a sponsor?

I was wondering the same thing. They would obviously up their sponsorship dollars quite a bit, but would be part of a great winning organization. I'd like to see it happen.

It is a great opportunity for Byron. He is a talented kid. I wish him the best.

Go Team Liberty! .......... all the way up the ranks of NASCAR.

Liberty is sponsoring him in his new Xfinity ride. He keeps his number 9 and the paint scheme is great. Congrats to both Liberty and Byron.

William Byron is currently sitting in #2 in Championship points early in the season. He has gotten better in each race this season finishing 9th, 7th, 14th, 4th, and 5th through five races winning one pole. The kid is repping LU like a champion.

After brother-in-law prodding, I'm going tonight to the Coke Zero Infinity 250 at Daytona International Speedway tonight. When relative Bob quizzed me this morning I thought this would be a fun time to watch William Byron race, especially after his recent win. And the Daytona races for the Cup and Infinity guys, is their Super Bowl/World Series of stock car racing. I'll post a follow up after the race. And I live only 10 minutes from the track so I guess it is time. If you are watching on TV, watch for me, I'll in the blue LU hat <grin>.

William Byron wins his second race in a row. Well done young man!

I wonder if there is any chance he will get to drive Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s #88 next season if he continues his strong showing the rest of the season? Jr. retires after this season, and Byron is currently driving a car owned by Jr. in the Xfinity series.

Attending and watching the Coke Zero 250 at Daytona Speedway was a marathon. In the end, we did watch William Bryon win his second race. LU unfortunately was not the sponsor for the car and Axalta was the sponsor that got the recognition. Two extended rain delays, one Friday night, and another on Saturday, caused a 2+ hour race caused us to spend at the racetrack on Friday from 5:30pm to 9:30 pm, and from Saturday from 11am to 5pm. Winds were howling, lightning, thunder and blowing sideways rain at times.

And in the end it was fun. The event was a 100 lap race with stages at 30 laps and at 60 laps. At the 60 lap stage, Bryon pitted and went from a top 5 position to dead last. I'm guessing there were 35 cars racing at that time. With the re-start at 60, I watched him move up and up an up, and at about lap 75 he took the lead. It was extraordinary driving skills with a well tuned racecar. And after he and several others with back-n-forth lead changes, he finished 1st. It was very good racing.

I'm a casual race fan. I only went because my brother-in-law prodded me. I'm glad I did as Bryon is the real deal. Who knows where he will end up in the future with his racing career. I believe when he was being interviewed immediately after the race that he gave a "thanks to Liberty".

William Byron currently sits in 2nd place in the championship race. I haven't seen Liberty as the main sponsor in several races. I knew the deal was for only part of the season as main sponsor. I think the last few races we've been the third or fourth sponsor.

He did an incredible job of blocking Menard for the checkered flag. He is such a good young driver. That win moved him into 1st place in the championship standings.

Really looking forward to seeing what William Byron can do in Jeff Gordon’s #24 NASCAR. I believe he will do very well as a rookie and could be a Top 16 driver. On a side note, I’m not a big fan of the Liberty paint scheme he’ll be riding in this year. I’d like it better if they used the traditional flames the car will carry the rest of the season, only in LU colors. When the LU logo flames are used it barely looks like flames at all and just doesn’t carry over onto the racecar.

Anyway, less than a month till the cars are rolling at Daytona. Go William Byron! We need to come up with a nickname for the kid..... “The Flame”..... “Sparky”.....”Chicken Fingers”.....”Will the Thrill”

If I knew how to post videos I would do it. Byron’s crash at Kansas yesterday gives a whole new meaning to Liberty Flames. He was running Top 10 until he wrecked. Hasn’t been a stellar rookie year for William. He’s got one Top 10 so far. All in all, Chevy has struggled to be competitive this year in NASCAR. So, I don’t know how much is the driver and how much is the ride. Hoping for great things with this young man and the Liberty U. race car. I am taking my kids to see the race at Michigan in June, after we return back to the States from Korea.

William picked up his second Top 10 finish in a row today. He’s looking a lot more racey.
