My conservative pick is 18-11 regular season then 2-1 in the tournament for a final record of 20-12. I feel there is a good chance this team wins 20 games in the regular season. It will depend on team chemistry and how well Lewis shares the ball. If he goes all NBA one on one like last season, the win total will be less. He needs to learn that great players make everyone around them better.

I pray, hope, crossing my fingers, you are right, our program desperately needs that. Losing any single game of our home OOC will say to our fans, "more of the same" and interest will be lost before we get to the conference schedule. We also need to give hope to the fans and stay with UVA and ODU, not necessary to win, but tell our fans we're for real. It wouldn't hurt to take one from GMU or Fordham. A lot of people don't put any stock in the OOC games, but they are extremely important where selling tickets come time to play for the conference games.

I hope a year from now the Dukes will be in one of these events. Solid competition early in the season normally, good experience for the players and coaches, can help recruiting/exposure, and games are on ESPN networks.
For example, this year...
-Towson opens in the Charleston Classic against Xavier. The Tigers will play 3 games on ESPN networks.
-Charleston opens in the Wooden Legacy out in Fullerton against Wake Forest. 3 games on ESPN networks.

An even bigger benefit, IMO, is that they learn how to win 3 games in 3 days with tired legs and very little practice prep. If you have to win the CAA tourney to go dancing, then a test run in a similar format can only help the team.

That's a shame.
An area Lou has earned high grades is player retention. Obvioulsy he's well liked by his players. Certainly Fowler is a different situation since he's not yet enrolled at JMU.

imo 7 freshman on roster is too many anyway. Hate to lose a 68 guy but there was bound to be losses in that class anyway.
jacobs and wilson should be able to handle 5 spot

Too bad because Fowler looked a potential rim protector. My guess is Wilson at 5 Christmas when they play small at 4 and Wooden or Flowers when they play tall at 4 and Jacobs as a guy who gets minutes at both 4 and 5.

Hopefully you realized that I was not blaming Lou. I complimented Lou for one of his strengths. I went out of my way to say he's earned high marks in player retention but this is a different situation when the kid changes his mind before playing with him.

Hopefully you realized that I was not blaming Lou. I complimented Lou for one of his strengths. I went out of my way to say he's earned high marks in player retention but this is a different situation when the kid changes his mind before playing with him.
Picking nits I realize, but pretty sure all of the incoming players, including Fowler, were enrolled in summer semester. Lots of pics at JMU MBB Twitter from back in June with them all working out at what appeared to be UREC including coaching supervision. Unless he was a special case and didn't show back in late May or early June with the rest????
