The power of pressure is a good thing in recruiting. It's one thing to really like W&M, and another to really like W&M but only have one spot available. Recruits pay attention to the other players visiting. I think the two commits this week coupled with the impending official for Scott have amped up the pressure. I wouldn't be surprised if Scott or Crabtree commit by the middle of next week.

Man, can someone send an email, with all this action, to Mickey Pearson??

It's not too late. Come join the fun. What's in St. Louis, other than the Arch...? 03-wink

Funny. But that means there are people writing Audige & Owens asking what's in Williamsburg other than some old buildings and tricorner hats.

I have no doubt our friends at Hofstra and Northeastern are typing, as we speak.

Hey, remember that year when we had one recruit (who doesn't go here anymore)? Talk about rags to riches!

I also noticed that long ago offered Georgia G/F Brandon Younger recently friended W&M bball on Twitter. Is he in contention with the other 4?

I too see WMTribeMBB near the top of his follows and get excited but he did not do that recently; he just hasn't followed many accounts since following WMTribeMBB a month or so ago.

I saw UNC-Asheville was just in to see him.

Quinnipiac offered another guard last night so apparently they still very much wanted Owens as a 4th guard.

Odd, since they have absolutely no inside presence in the future beyond Marfo, and one slot available. Guess that confirms that their offer and targeting of Thornton Scott is still very much in play, unless they think Scott has passed them by, too...

How about a state combo for the next 2? Either Crabtree/Hemphill from NC or Scott/Kupsas from NY to complement the three excellent current commits.

Actually, I'm pretty much good with anyone on the list. The staff has/is doing a great job.

How about either Crabtree or Scott and both Kupsas & Hemphill?

I also think if neither of these bigs pan out, there will still be some very talented bigs that come available in the spring. It would be nice to get them signed in the fall before bigger schools get desperate and come calling when the school's other offers fall through after the season.

Needs to be a dual email telling Jake Lanford that his Yale financial package wasn't as good as they implied and still time to switch back to his runner-up choice, now that his buddy Nesmith has opted elsewhere.
Bright guy, really liked this kid:

Will be interesting to see if Peterson still takes an official to Yale, and join 20 others on the team. The Ivy League non-scholarship racket is such a bend the rules fraud.

So close. Rats!
That hurts....would have made a huge difference to where this class is at. Big men are scarce in this class for everybody.

I'd love to see 3-4 quality bigs on the roster at all times, which I believe gives greater flexibility to run different offensive sets and increases competition in practice. Bigs are generally going to benefit from a redshirt to a greater extent and once you get to 4 on a roster it shouldn't be a hardship.

I was really pleased with Whitman, Knight and Seacat. It appears that Knight, Kupsas and Hemphill might even grow to be a stronger trio.

If we get 3-4 players in this class that can contribute as frosh, then redshirting becomes viable, locks in talent and evens out classes.

Capital Gazette article on LJ Owens commitment. Some interesting behind the scenes nuggets.

“To have the whole community rooting for us in the tournament — I hope to make that happen, because it would be so much fun,” Owens said.

I'm trying to remember back to my feelings on the Omar, Jack, & Daniel class. I was very excited for Omar. I remember following the Kentucky state championships and Mr basketball race. Daniel and Jack completely exceeded my expectations. I remember being a little disappointed with the Whitman signing at the time because it shut the door on Rodney Williams- my man crush at the time. Jack blossomed into a quality CAA big in his tenure. Likewise Daniel. I thought he'd be another spot up shooter, but he turned into do much more.

Fair all around. Daniel definitely was not as hyped as Omar or even Jack. Basically I’m trying not to get over excited, but this class seems hella exciting already.

IIRC, the big names were Omar, Jack, and Mike. Daniel was an afterthought (recruiting-wise) who was raved about by the coaches once practice started.

I'm getting excited about Tribe hoops all over again. I agree with BT, though, we need to skip all the stuff where we don't get recruits. :)

Any reason it seems like we have a way easier time recruiting guards than big men?

I didn't realize Shaver has been here for 15 years. I recall his being hired like it was yesterday...im getting old...i used to think about memories in terms of years and now it's decades. Ugh
