He should be in the house for the Towson game.

Athletic strong frame can finish at the rim with hook or step back jumper. He is a long, shot blocker, moves feet very well, fundamentally sound instincts doesn’t fall for the pump fake. Consistently hit the face up jumper even hit the trail 3. Underrecruited big that will continue to heat up. I really like Bryants game. Soft touch, nice right and left baby hooks, and tries to dunk everything around the hoop. He plays physical, keeps the ball high, and looks to be a competent shot blocker. Sign me up.

I like that many of these bigs that the coaches are showing interest in are 235-245lb Juniors and not the 215lb kids that we normally target. It's not rocket science, but I guess it doesn't go unnoticed that CAA bigs tend to physically abuse our bigs inside.

Seems to be unnoticed by the officials, LOL

RE: 2018 Basketball Recruiting - WillaMary08 - 02-28-2017 06:37 AM

Madut Akec 6'6" SF from Sarasota, FL (originally from Australia). Elite Basketball had this to say when Akec was a freshman:

"Madut Akec (6’5, 2018, Victory Rock)- His raw is another player’s highly skilled. The “IT factor” is just there and his smooth, long scoring & high tempo motor and athleticism is an uncanny resemblance to his sibling Deng Adel who is on his way to Louisville. Madut is a no-brainer to follow in Deng’s footsteps."

RE: 2018 Basketball Recruiting - WillaMary08 - 03-01-2017 06:10 AM

Chris Parks 6'6" 200lb F from Lawrenceville, GA.

From Future150:
"Atlanta Underclassman Camp (Mar.7-8 2015)- Chris used his big frame to bang in the post to finish with contact.  Chris footwork has improved tremendously using up and under moves and sometimes even slashing from short corner which is also a compliment to his ball handling becoming stronger.  Rebounded the ball well but needs to work on his on ball defense just in case he doesn't grow much more.

Christopher is a combination forward who can bang in the post or face-up from 15 feet and in. Very good rebounder as well."

RE: 2018 Basketball Recruiting - WillaMary08 - 03-02-2017 11:21 AM

Caleb Catto 6'4" 175lb SG from Fort Myers, FL.

From a USAToday High School Sports article from August:
"Insight:

“He’s the epitome of a well-rounded basketball player.”
“He’s an elite shooter, passer and rebounder at the guard position.”
“His court awareness and ability to make his teammates better are what make him unique.”
“He is a fierce competitor, mentally and physically tough, and an excellent defender.”
“He fears no one and is always up for the challenge of defending the opposing team’s best player.”
“He’s a potential high-major player.”
College interest: University of North Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Yale, William & Mary, East Carolina"

After compiling a list of all the Class of 2018 players that the three assistant coaches are following on Twitter and posting info about one each morning I've been forgetting to do that recently and only have a few left so I'm just going to post them all at once:

Brandon Thomas 6'2" 165lbs guard from McDonough, GA.

Offers from Florida Gulf Coast and Kennesaw State.
-
Trey Doomes 6'3" 175lb guard from Acworth, GA.

11 offers including GA Tech, UGA, Auburn, and JMU.
-
Nick Honor 5'10" 170lb PG from Orlando. 6 offers including JMU.

And Joseph Lanzi reclassified to 2018. He visited wm last year.

RE: 2018 Basketball Recruiting - WillaMary08 - 03-16-2017 07:35 AM

Jonathan Holmes has started following Michael Bothwell, 6'3" 170 lb PG from Willoughby, OH, on Twitter. Offers from Kent State, Longwood, and Akron.

RE: 2018 Basketball Recruiting - WillaMary08 - 03-16-2017 03:10 PM

Brandon Younger has a Verbal Commits page now. The page lists offers from Middle Tennessee State, Tennesse Tech, and Stetson. Doesn't mention WM but always possible that VC is missing an offer or two.
