Oregon State has 4 returning players at 6-8 or taller (was going to be 5 but one is transferring out of the program), and have signed 3 players for 2018, 2 are 6-11 and one is 7-1. They lost a former 4 star guard in mid-season. 7 returning or incoming players 6-8 or bigger. Sounds awful crowded to me.

He has other offers too. Those were just the offers he received after this weekend.

UTEP, FAU and FIU among them.

Besides, think of what VCU's reaction would be. Priceless.

He'll likely have to fail at a couple more P5 opportunities before he drops down to another midmajor job.

Agreed. He can still dine off what he did at VCU, plus he's recruited well at Texas. No chance he doesn't get at least one more power program.

Shaka is a hell of a recruiter. I think he sucks at X's and O's but he sure as hell motivates his players and they rally FOR HIM. Something JJ does not do.

I don't think he is a bad Xs and Os coach so much as a system coach. Being a strict system coach requires 100% buy-in from the team. Much more difficult to do with a team full of 4- and 5-star recruits that could go anywhere and want to showcase their individual talents to the NBA than with a bunch of 2-star recruits that are just happy playing D1 basketball on a full scholarship. Some coaches are just better at being a mid-major coach.

I heard, I believe it was Jay Bilas talking Will Cain (neither of who are favorites) about why Shaka didn't take Havoc to Texas and Bilas said, you can't get 4- and 5- star recruits to play defense that hard. Stephen A. Smith loves some Shaka, too. I heard him recently singing his praises. Not a fan of Stephen A. Smith. At all. In fact, ESPN has completely ruined their afternoon line up, if you ask me.

Complete bull that you cant get good recruits to play good defense. You alos dont need to play “havoc” to play good defense.

Some coaches can get away with lesser opponents woth the occational P5 school. Then they move up and are exposed. There was no reason Texas struggled so much.

Agreed - I thought Shaka would have had a stronger showing. No excuses for a coach when they’re flush with blue chips.

Remember what Blaine Taylor once said. "Sometimes the NCAA tournament makes average coaches look like rock stars".

Evidently, the NIT can do the same thing for a period of time.

Desean Murray transfers (immediately eligible) to WKU from Auburn. This makes WKU the heavy favorite to win the conference. What a year this is gonna be.

I think we all saw that coming. Even without this move.

Sansbury can sure recruit. Just think positively about all the current and future vacated wins when it all of his crap blows.

Doesnt mean a damn thing now though does it? We're still going to get our asses kicked in. Yeah we've heard hes a cheater but until he gets busted for it, it really doesnt amount to a hill of beans.

...and we currently live in the world of "if you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'". This is college basketball. People can whine about it all they want, but pretty much every team that is any good is cheating to some degree at this point.

At the end of the day its not like hes got a bunch of 30 year olds playing for him. What the hell is it going to matter 4 or 5 years down the line when our players have graduated and are awarded vacated wins? Vacated wins dont mean a damn thing to anyone.

Like Jalen Rose said, they can take our banners down, but at the end of the day we knew who the best team was regardless of vacated wins.
