SUSAN EBERLE LEAVE TOWN NOW!!!!! You don't bring anything good to this community, you are anti-progressive! You and your green socialists need to go far far away - try Saskatchewan, lots of land, few people, no ones looking to build anything there. You move next to a rapidly growing university and suddenly state that since you are here everything needs to stop. Just pure selfishness, how dare you pull the 'holier than thou art' attitude towards our university! You are standing in the way of over 40k students and over 100k alumni who fully support the advancement of their alma mater.

Ok Im better now, Im sick of all the red tape in getting this stadium done, but if it means getting done right then do it right. Its just that the board should not be listening to just a handfull of backward thinking nimby's, such as the wicked witch of Oviedo.

The same thing would happen if we tried to build one here in Memphis. Our City Counsel would have to be paid off.

That's one thing that we wouldn't have to deal with at UAB. The University is considered a state agency and its property as state property. As a state agency its authority supercedes all local authorities (including the city and county), the University also has the power of condemnation.

Our problem would be paying for it as long as the corrupt and uneven handed BOT remains in power. (Although that could be shorly changing)....

This problem far extends outside of the stadium. It happens all around Florida and about building new schools, roads, shopping centers, hospitals, ect. ect. This anti-progressivism attitude just drives me nuts. It ticks me off when people move down here - knowing this is a fast growing state - and after they get here and build their home they want all building to stop. Building in moderation should be the way - to make sure everything is up to code and its impact isn't absolutely damaging - but the anti-stadium folks want ALL BUILDING in and around the campus to seize! These people get what they deserve, they knowingly move next to a large and expanding university. They should do better research and moved to someplace in which the university and its students doesn't effect them. Morons!

I think lots of universities have that kind of neighbors -- dolts who think it's prestigious to live near the university, but who moan & gripe about the realities of it. It's like if people moved into a place called "Rainforest Estates" and then started bitching about all the monkeys.
