Personally I'm pulling for Rays, Giants, White Sox...I won't be mad if any of these three win it all; LA and Boston wouldn't bother me either.
I'd rather the Taliban win the WS than Boston.

So, you're saying you're pulling for St. Louis?
Hahaha well played. I see the Cards are to you, what the Sox and UNC are to me 04-cheers

Interesting to hear perspective from inside the rivalry. I've never had any issues with Cards fans.

I've got to pull for LA. Not because I'm a Dodger fan, I'm not, but because of Evan Phillips a former Hawk that is now a Dodger.

I dont think arrogance is matched without including yankee and sox fans, no offense. Those guys are unbearable. Especially after Boston ended their curse. Prior to that, it was Yankee fans without a doubt.

I'm not sure where you allegiance lies, but Philly fans are universally hated in all sports. And in all the other cases, it's been success that has caused some arrogance(and jealousy of opposing fans), not the case with Philly.

Im actually a Baltimore sports fan. Philly fans are jerks. Yankee and Sox fans are unbearable though and quite arrogant.

Well maybe Baltimore fans should actually show up at Camden and not let it become Fenway South, or Yankee Stadium South then you might not have such a bad experience with them.

That franchise has been openly tanking/underspending for years under that ownership. They don't care one iota about winning because Angelos still prints money regardless. I don't blame their fans at all for not showing up.

The O's have a bunch exciting young talent on offense at the moment, but it'll just be a matter of time before those pieces start getting traded away.

Well, if you don't show up you can't complain about other fans showing up and taking over. They do have some solid young hitting. And a few solid young arms. They have spent some money in years past just not wisely. The last few years none at all. Definitely not the same as when they led the league in payroll a few times in the mid 90s

I'm not sure who my favorite AL team is, but the Bombing Birds are up there. With the Rays having a local connection, it's probably Tampa now, but growing up I loved Baltimore...Cal was my favorite non-Cub.

I hate to see owners prioritizing business over baseball. Cubs dealt with that plenty during the Tribune era. Hoping we never do that again.

Cal was hard not to like. If you were a fan of the game you should have been a fan of Cal. Even as a division rival, loved and respected what Cal brought to the game.

RE: 2016-2021 MLB Thread - dan10 - 10-07-2021 06:37 AM

Them taking over isnt the issue, and its expected for various reasons, (cost to attend a series being lower than a single game at either home ballpark being a main one) how ones act is totally different. You can be a fan and cheer and jeer and not be complete ******** to everyone around you, especially when just walking by on concourses. Yankee and Sox fans are unfortunately consistent. And not in a positive manner. That doesnt mean there arent perfectly fine fans, because there are, but far too many instances throughout any game of that behavior paints a not good picture.

Dont worry Angelos ruined the franchise and the fans know it. The fans have wanted him gone for many years. They have not had a product worth showing up for. When they finally broke their nearly 30 year losing streak under Buck, the fans were back and supportive. Its hard supporting a bad owner and a bad product for multiple decades, it just is. And the son, who is running the show, has 0 interest in baseball. The second Peter passes away, the Orioles will be sold and relocated. Not enough sponsorship money in Baltimore any more to support a baseball team and Cal doesnt have enough money himself to do it, either.

Anyhow, heck a game as expected last night. The LA/SF series should be a classic

Indeed! It was a good baseball game and even though I was happy to see StL lose, they have a lot to be proud of this season. I think they underachieved most of the season, but they kept fighting until they figured it out and they were playing great baseball to end the season.

It's a shame that they ended the year on a 3 game losing streak 03-lmfao

I had a two hour drive yesterday evening and the suspense of that game kept me going. What a finish, and it's a good thing i'm not sure i'd have made it to extras. LAst night, is what postseason baseball is all about. The Yankee-Sox game was over in the first

Yesterday went about as i expected it. Would be surprised if TB doesn't sweep. Probably a tad of "get off my lawn" here but i miss the old days when you paid for showboating by taking one between the numbers. I'm obviously rooting hard for TB, but Arozarena's HR shenanigans are a bit over the top IMO

Nah. Its playoff baseball. Every game has meaning. In fact, I wish he would have gone further. When he outright stole home. I would have loved to see him face the pitcher and give him the "suck it" gesture. Add fuel. Make it more fun! There are too many times I feel like baseball players get offended by a bunch of nothing. You dont want them celebrating, then get them out.

Sorry man, old school baseball was just better. Self policing. His celebration on the HR was ridiculous and it's not like it was a walkoff.
