I'll miss his antics and his team not performing in the tourney.

I won't miss them beating us on Sr Day.

Long time in coming, just never believed it would happen. Is Ross next, or is his contract too prohibitive

I would have been pretty shocked if it didn't happen. Bruiser started at Drexel right when I started going to games, so he has entertained me through my entire time watching Tribe basketball.

Will miss his antics, but a no brainer for Drexel.

I'll miss his entertainment value as well, and wish Drexel the best of luck finding a quality replacement.

We can only hope. Many have our doubts.

I wonder where he'll land - as a Kentucky fan, I'm not sure I want him in Lexington on Cal's staff, but they go way back and are reportedly very close friends

That could be a great gig, he's a great recruiter which is great as an assistant, but you don't have to deal with his head coaching issues.

Based on the sentiment on the JMU board, they will be looking for a new coach soon....04-cheers

Would Bruiser like Harrisonburg, or would he, gasp, by a house across the mountain like Brady?

I think Bruiser can land a fairly high profile assistant gig at a prestige program. That seems like it's right in his wheelhouse

He has had offers for years to do just that and he turned them down. I have a hard time believing he is willing to be an assistant again. My guess is he will go into tv (ala Blaine Taylor) for a bit especially if nobody really comes knocking for his services as a head coach. If he decides tv is not right and nobody comes calling, I think at that point I could see him land for a year on Cal's staff

RE: Bruiser Fired - Tribe32 - 03-08-2016 01:12 PM

I believe he has at least one more year on his contract so he'll be getting paid for doing nothing for a while. Plenty of time to figure out what to do next.

Yes he was "bought out" of the last year of his deal instead of having a lame duck season.

Looks like they hired Army head coach Zach Spiker.
