Tulsi Gabbard quits party post to endorse Sanders - EagleX - 02-28-2016 06:00 PM

I guess Tulsi is going to hell for turning on hillary.

Quote:Tulsi Gabbard quits party post to endorse Sanders

Tulsi Gabbard, the first ever Hindu elected to the US Congress who has a sizeable following among Indian-Americans, today quit a senior Democratic party position to endorse Bernie Sanders as the US presidential candidate.

Gabbard's sudden endorsement comes ahead of the Super Tuesday in which front-runner Hillary Clinton is pitched in a tough battle against Sanders in the 11 States where the Democratic Party's presidential primaries are scheduled.

Appearing in a Sunday talk show on NBC News, Gabbard, 34, said she is stepping down as the vice chair of the Democratic National Committee and is endorsing Sanders, who is attracting thousands of people across the country for his views of health care and education.

"There is a clear contrast between our two candidates with regard to my strong belief that we must end the interventionist, regime change policies that have cost us so much. This is not just another issue... It's deeply personal to me," Gabbard said on NBC's 'Meet the Press'.

Interesting move. She might be setting herself up for a future national run of some type and she might just not want to attach herself to the Clinton name. Of course, she's setting up some baggage by endorsing Sanders but it may depend on how actively she campaigns for him.

She's a future star in the Democratic party perhaps. Young, pretty, Army veteran, Hindu with a big following in the Hindu-American population. At the very least, she's probably a candidate to be a Hawaii Senator.

I don't see the purpose in backing a dead horse.

I tend to agree with those that say Bernie's chances died in South Carolina.

Well she just threw away any future in the DNC

But Honestly, there is No future in the DNC with Clinton either. So branching out allows Her to explore the Next big thing whatever it is and Not be linked with Clinton. Bernie is after all currently represents the Anti-Clinton movement among Younger Democrats.

Gabbard admitted to Brian Williams that she was warned about consequences of endorsing Sanders.

Good for Gabbard. I like her.

Liberals need a more mainstream alternative to the Democratic party. I still think Sanders has a shot, but it keeps getting longer.

Not just younger. Some of us older Dems are fed up with her stuff too. And are trying to make it known, for all the good that will do.

Unless you are a "bundler" or a megadonor, the only thing you have that the Clinton Empire truly wants or cares about is your vote in November. Withholding that is the one and only way to get their attention.

She won't get mine. I'll write in a vote for Pee Wee Herman before I'll cast my ballot for her.
