Considering the number of military bases in that area, the crowd may have been increased by reduced price or free tickets to active duty service personnel. Just a thought.

On the flip side, Charlotte only had 3,914 last night for the MT game.
FAU had 1,699 for the USM game. FIU had 1,240 for LaTech. Rice had 1,664 for WKU. North Texas had 1,585 for the Marshall invasion.

I think its more of a "first reference" thing. They usually refer to us as UAB after that.
