In the games I have watched him play this year he seems to be playing well off of his man when they don't have the ball and it has made him look bad at times when they catch a quick pass and either put on a quick move or a quick shot. I guess the coach has instructed him to do that but I don't see it as much to that degree on other teams. He also needs to work on his 3 point accuracy to raise his shooting percentage from beyond the arc.
I fully agree that his new high salary has also put him under the microscope with the fans.

They have been losing ever since Baze got hurt. Maybe he's more valuable than they realize?? I actually haven't had the chance to watch any games recently so idk, but I'll spin it this way anyway

He is what he is. No one should have expected some dramatic improvement just because of the huge contract. He took advantage of the free agent market, no one should fault him for that. His stats are about the same as last year, but I agree that with the big contract, he is playing under more of a microscope.

Kent was on the court during Atlanta's 4th quarter comeback from 26 points down to send the game into overtime against Cleveland. He also played all of the 5 minute overtime when they completed the comeback and got the win.

I do. Nats, Wiz and NYG are my only pro allegiances. If I was a hockey fan, I'd be a Caps fan, too, but its just not my thing. I think I'm lucky given how the fans are feeling right now. And this time last year, and all the years before.

I know we aren't a "top flight" basketball school, but he didn't have to put it that way.

Till we start making the NCAA Tournament, the Top 25, or at the very least win the conference and get into the NIT on a pretty regular basis, these kinds of back handed put downs will only get worse.

Baze got a lot of play time tonight in a Hawks loss, and looked pretty good most of the game, but the last 2 minutes he had a few mistakes. Got his pocket picked leading to a Wiz dunk, missed an important rebound, and crossed the line as he was defending a Wiz inbounds play. Otherwise he did well.

Yeah I was there. While I live in DC and occasionally root for Wiz, I was rooting for ATL cuz Baze. Seemed to play okay to me but the ATL fans on some forums, like Reddit, seem to despise him which is unfortunate. Wash played great defense tonight and ATL just seemed lost at times so I dont know why the ATL fans have this hatred for Baze, not only when he makes a couple mistakes but whenever they lose a game. He seems to be in their line of fire. Yet when they win, I don't see anything.

It's probably the $70MM contract. When he was making peanuts he was a steal and didn't factor into the salary cap really at all. Now that he's got a significant contract I think they've been wanting him to be a bigger factor on the floor. He's been doing good this season but I think some ATL fans don't see his quality of play to be worth the contract value.
