Can someone explain the goat thing? I know most rival terms don't have to be 100% accurate but usually there is some semblance of truth or reasoning and humor behind them. I grew up in Banner Elk and lived in Boone until I was 27 and don't think I ever saw a goat.

Can you explain the stink thing? I spent four years at GS and have frequented Bluffton SC and Savannah frequently the last few years and the only time I have smelled anything is over the bridge in Sav in SC where it is marshy. Also, the gnat thing is also overblown. South ga close to FLA is bad near water but I have never attended a GSU game and been like these gnats are killing me. The vast majority of our students come metro ATL counties which make them more than likely first non GA born or first generation GA but we get labeled in the Honey boo boo crowd.

That is an hour away..I never has noticed even in Sav. but the wind is blowing out to sea most days. Probably what I smell going over the bridge rather than the marshy areas on the SC side.

The GOAT thing can from one of the GSUfans posters who decided to call us "goat-humpers" and it caught on because they had no other way to make fun of a superior school.
The Stink comes from that nasty, smelly, awful drainage ditch they call a creek.
And yes, I would rather swim in my own piss than that disease-ridden cauldron you call a creek.

Waste water treatment plant off the bypass is my guess. Though it only smelled in Greenbriar.
