I hope so. fact of the matter is even if we put up 100% of the money the Athletic Committee can say no. There is a lot at play right now. Everyone be patient and keep raising money.

I am not sure, but I think Gorilla wants an OCS. Is anyone else getting this vibe?

The thing is, he seems to think the rest of us need convincing.

RE: UAB Stadium - ATTALLABLAZE - 09-30-2015 11:37 AM

We all want it.

A lot more than football.

All of these progressive Southern cities that have passed us by - Charlotte, Atlanta, Nashville, Greensboro (pains me even typing that), Raleigh, Charleston - are financial/business centers that kept their money at home. Birmingham has spent over half a century sending it back to the boondocks.

We have a chance to see the first reversal in that deadly flow in three generations. This is a very big deal for everyone in Birmingham and its metro area.

Note that those other southern states are projected to either remain in place or gain representation in the 2020 census while Alabama is the ONLY southern sunbelt state projected to lose representation. B'ham is not the only potential loser in this state's "kamikaze" style of governing. The WWII Japanese mantra of "Death before dishonor" has been adapted as "State death before progress or social (includes educational opportunity) or economic equality".

Sorry Gorilla but it's just like we have been trying to tell everyone.

RE: UAB Stadium - BlazerHam - 10-07-2015 04:29 PM

I've already have Stadium Certificates . Selling them at 500% markup.

Will the per capita spending change as well?

RE: UAB Stadium - TheGORILLA - 10-07-2015 05:57 PM

Bummer! To say the least. The plan stinks to high hell and back. Rent a stadium twenty blocks away from campus. No revenue generated there for UAB Athletics. Such a waste.

It's noted. Now can you stop repeating it every chance you get?

Don't come then.

RE: UAB Stadium - Memphis Blazer - 10-07-2015 06:09 PM

Don't get mad at Gorilla because he remains committed to the original dream of an on campus stadium while everyone else is willing to compromise.
