I went with the Other catagory, becasue with sorry-a$$ coaching, its difficult to know what else is bad on its own.

I think that O'leary's biggest weakness as a sideline coach is that he is sticking to the gameplan more than G. Bush in Iraq. The fact remains that if we cannot get his running scheme to work with the current personel, then we need to pass. But passing won't normally work unless you have at least a moderate running game... which we DO NOT HAVE. Therefore, if the RB is not a running threat, then you need to spread the Offense and put the QB in the shotgun to give him extra time to track receivers and keep an eye on the rush. This also allows him to scramble for positive yards and become a running threat (and he has the skills to do that). Once you establish that moderate running threat, you can pass with more efficency. If you doubt what I am saying, then go back to the last 1:34 seconds of the SC game and you'll see this in action. Getting used to this formation will also make them more comfortable in the "hurry-up" offense at the ends of games when we are trying to catch up. For God's sake, up until the last 1:34, we were using such a slow pace on offense against SC, that we even gave them time to substitute defenders.

I will always support my Knights, but this is the first time I have been ashamed of their efforts.

I think the worst part of our team is the coaching, and by that I mean game coaching. GO is a great head coach, but a sorry game day coach. He can train the team and condition team and get them to make good grades and recruit, but he doesn't really do much during the actual game. The offensive playing calling sucks. Every play is from Ace formation Slot. We run the ball out of Ace which doesn't really work if the only thing you do is push it up the middle with a weak O-line. Defensively the play calling is decent. It could be better though, more 4-3, 3-4, and 4-2-5 would be great. The team will be better next year, but we definitely need a new offensive coordinator. O'leary coaches the special teams in practice, and I think they do pretty decent in games. Anyway thats my two cents.

Even though our running game has done next to nothing, we still have to attempt to run the ball to keep defenses more honest.

I, too, wonder why our offense was so conservative late in the South Carolina game. That was extremely disappointing to see.

It is hard to run the ball with such a weak offensive line. They give no holes to run through except for the d-line of the other team. Until they learn to keep with a block and move the line forward, it is going to be an awful season again. Not to mention that if all the passes are within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage then the defenders can hang 8 and 9 in the box.

Throw a deep pass once in a while to keep them honest. Shotgun and the speed of the recievers can get deep before the o-line points out where the QB is to hit. :bang:
