This will be a HUGE get, IF we can hold on to him through signing day.

Cheers,

I'll be very pleasantly surprised if he ever dons and Orange or gray blue uniform.

Where are the Cuse negatoids? Huge step for us to get back to the Top 25.

Washington had offers from 40+ schools including many of the elites. This is a good step in rebuilding the Orange. I hope that #44 comes out of retirement and the kid gets a chance to earn it.

This. Many times over. 04-cheers

This is nice for Syracuse, but huge? Really? Bring back #44 huge? Return to Top 25 huge?

All this for a single kid from a small private school who is rated #116 in the nation by ESPN? It's a good start for your recruiting class, and you should be very happy to have him. But let's not go overboard here.

We haven't had a kid this highly rated in over a decade...it is huge for us.

I'll ignore the obvious insult...but you have to rebuild from somewhere...getting a kid like this can help recruit others. He is close friends with a highly rated QB (Haskins) and the kid is starting to look at us. The good news: we are 2-0 over the last 4 months versus Florida for a recruit. 04-cheers

That wasn't meant as an insult. That was genuine sympathy. More along the lines of how did you do as well as you did without a single four star recruit? At first, I thought you were exaggerating, so I actually looked it up. Cuse only got a commitment from one player on the ESPN150 list in an entire decade. That one was WR Andrey Baskin in 2006 (rated #86) and he failed to qualify academically after two years of prep school.

RE: Cuse Lands Outstanding RB (Robert Washington) for '16 - TexanMark - 04-26-2015 02:31 PM

No issues ken...I took it the wrong way. Yes, we have had a drought in recruiting but some of it isn't as bad as it seems. Some of our 2 star recruits would've been 3 and 4 star recruits if they were in the South.

Getting the IPF done has helped and Shafer's persona really appeals to most HS kids and their families.

IDK, but I can virtually guarantee that it will look awful. We are painfully consistent in that regard.

We and Nike....enuf blame to go around.

If we can string together a "very good" QB, an elite RB, and 1-2 good WR's, we could be dangerous. An offense would bring fans to the Dome and our defense is usually pretty decent. Giving them fans and a cushion would be a big bump.

My theory is that we tried to offset the BIG EAST TV deal by letting Nike do their thing, and Nike is just really, really bad at designing original jerseys that don't look terrible.

If that WAG is true, my blame falls squarely on Nike's shoulders.

Now this is something we can agree upon. Hope to see the Dome Rocking and truly become the Loud House for football again sometime in the next three years.
