Tech fans were really going to town with that chant toward the end of regulation...but as overtime unfolded they just sat there (w/their bottom lips stuck out) in silence...being at the BJCC tonight brought back so many memories of Coach Bartow and all those great games from the 1980's

I talked to a bunch of Tech fans that were really nice and I thanked them for coming and to have a safe trip home. A few of them even chanted "Fire Ray Watts" with us. Every fanbase has some bad fans...unfortunately.

I kinda thought the we have football chant was amusing. Made me wonder if Ray Watts, Linda Lucas, and the like could understand the cultural divide between the have (football) and the have nots (football)?
After the game I wish the UAB crowd had shouted "This ain't Football!" just for fun.

My interaction with Tech fans last night was less than cordial. One told me I should "get a job" and another told me that UAB fans were bums ( I wont say exactly what he said ) because we were cheering while their band was playing their Alma Mater after the game. What the heck would he expect our fans to be doing after beating the #1 team in the conference in an emotional game in OT???

If we did it at their home court he'd have a right to grump about it. Under the circumstances he can just shut up. Hell, I wouldn't even recognize their alma mater to know I was stepping on it.
