2-1 on the road against the top tier of the CAA - 82hawk - 01-17-2015 05:03 PM

Look out now. UNCW has already gotten behind them the top 3 road games in the conference, and come away 2-1. No more road trips up north, and we still have W&M and NE at home.

If we can hold serve at home, and win when we should on the road, we have the hard part of our road schedule in the rear view mirror already.

Like our chances. And, for some reason, we seem to play well on the road.

Excited about the Hawks' for the first time in a long time!

We have a realistic shot to win all of our remaining games. It is a very exciting time indeed

Solo, I know it was only one game but you also sort of got what you were wanting to see... the guys played 40 minutes. There wasn't any letting off the gas, regardless of if we were trailing or leading. The fight looked the same.

It's nice to be making noise among the top of the CAA, especially since we were picked by all the coaches to finish at the bottom again. If you haven't done so already, take a gander over at the WM boards. They're all dropping some respect for this team this year.

Additionally, today's game vs Hofstra was our first time playing a conference opponent for the 2nd time. That's a big deal that we competed with them the entire game and won. The level the players were at, their determination and aggressiveness, and the mid-game coaching switches were all a sweet recipe for success in a tough environment.

But, but didn't someone say we didn't have the gas to play like that???

Is it me? Or is that certain someone much slower to post after a win? Might be allergic to positive results.

I believe he said that we have a short bench as well, and that "That's on Keatts".

Any doubts about UNCW being in the hunt are now gone. Spruill with another great game. Seems you found the right coach!
