I was talking with a much-older person who doesn't live in Alabama now but did for many years. The conversation turned to Ursa Major and Ursa Minor and the way those two went through life, stepping on anyone who crossed their path. He wondered about the timing of this operation to kill UAB football and said "I bet he (Ursa Minor) waited until Bartow was dead to make the move. I don't think he would've tried this if he had to confront Bartow directly, face to face."

I hadn't thought of that before but now that he mentioned it, it does make some sense.
