IRS IT Dept - We Aint Going To Jail For This Administration - UofMstateU - 07-22-2014 11:01 PM

Turns out Lerners hard drive didn't crash, but was only "scratched", likely intentionally, but the data was still recoverable. This was testimony from the IT officials the oversight committee had sought to interview, but had been denied access by the administration.

Never, never, NEVER piss off the IT guys.

Don't know whether there's fire to this smoke or not, but this is one helluva development if there is.

It is unclear to me the meaning of "scratch" is here.

While it could mean a physical surface scratch, it could also mean the disk was quick-erased and put back in the parts bin for reissue. A "scratch disk" or tape is media that is available to be written over.

At first glance this could be the information that forces the DOJ's hand.

Obama better get those pardons ready.

All it takes is one sparrow to sing.

You only just figured this out Claw? We IT guys are dangerous when we want to be.. :)

But when this one came out, the entire IRS "hard drive" story just took a nose-dive into "Oh sh**" territory (IF the media covers it).

And either definition of "scratch" means that all the data is recoverable. (You don't do a full initialization/wipe of a scratch tape/drive.. it's just not done.)

And if it was usable then it was recoverable....

Miracle of miracles. Backup tapes that the IRS said were destroyed have been found.

Aaaahhhhhh, SNAP!

Ish just got real, real fast. So this career bureaucratic hack Koskinen lied repeatedly to the Congress as well, hunh?

We'll see if these tapes have much of anything on them, but the very idea that they had been lost or "mistakenly erased" strained credulity from the git.

Guess we can start the fitting for a couple of those pretty tangerine jumpsuits!

Good. So when they are reviewed and nothing is found you'll absolve the White House of any blame.

Yeah...right...move along...

You do know that the Administration extends faaaar beyond the White house, correct? You keep trying to drop that in there as if it's relevant to something. Curious use of key strokes.

"Subordinates and agents". Ring a bell?

Here, I'll help:

Quote:He has, acting personally and through his subordinates and agents, endeavoured to obtain from the Internal Revenue Service, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, confidential information contained in income tax returns for purposed not authorized by law, and to cause, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, income tax audits or other income tax investigations to be intitiated or conducted in a discriminatory manner.

Wow. A word here, a word there, and we're singing SoSueMe's tune.

How long until we bomb some empty aspirin factory in the desert? Or, better yet, turn over another half dozen hardened Jihadists for a deserter?!? 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

To be perfectly honest, I'd rather see her private email (probably a gmail or hotmail account) and all of the emails between her and coworkers on a non-gov't owned system. I bet there are some real doozies there.

As I've said previously, I just want to find out WHO is responsible and see to it that whoever it is gets severely punished. I'll gladly absolve anyone who isn't involved of any blame. But somebody clearly IS to blame, and whoever that is should not be absolved.

If it's rogue agents in Cincinnati, they need to do time.
If it's Lerner, she needs to do time.
If it's Valerie Jarrett, she needs to do time.
If it's Obama, he can't really do time, but impeachment would probably be appropriate.

I just want to know who. I don't particularly care who, as long as whoever it is gets severely punished.

Meh...I still am not all that bent in what the IRS even did. Mostly, because I would have done basically the same thing...especially in this political climate.

I just would have made sure I chose more liberal groups then they did. Although I still haven't heard the actual makeup of total non-profit applications. Were they 50/50 or were they 90/10 conservative?

There what is?

Be careful...if you sell your soul into believing this is all you need, then you have to admit there was nothing there if/when it comes up empty. 03-wink

You've made it quite clear that as long as it's your side, you don't give a rat's ass what they do.
