A couple of things:

1. Don't have to worry about Conference Realignment again...even if another shift now I know Louisville is at the Big Table and under whatever label will have Full Access.

2. That means no reason to post on the Conference Realignment Board or the AAC Board...strictly the ACC Board...and now just worry about the ACTUAL SPORTING EVENTS!!!!

The Coaches welcoming Louisville to the ACC...Includes Roy Williams, Mike Brey, Frank Beamer, Coach K and Jimbo Fisher....04-cheers

Congrats Louisville. No matter what any cards fan feels about UC there has been a lot of great games between the two schools in both football and basketball. Here's to hopefully continuing to play in the future. Good luck in the ACC.

Thanks man...I hope in the near future that UofL and UC renew both the Football and Basketball series...would love for Louisville/Cincinnati be the opener since they moved Louisville/Kentucky to the end of the year for ACC/SEC Rivalry Week...also hope when the shift happens again UC finds it way in a P5 League....04-cheers

Louisville formally joins ACC, a union highly unlikely 10 years ago

FOOTBALL:
Quote:[Today] marks a new beginning for the league and its latest member, but it also serves as the culmination of a 10-year power play by a conference once considered both genteel and non-threatening to the national pecking order.

Neither of those things is true today. Swofford has Big East blood on his hands and a burgeoning powerhouse league at his disposal.

BASKETBALL:
Quote:The loaded basketball portion of the league did not deliver in the NCAA tournament last season, failing to put a team in the Final Four... But the arrival of the Cardinals gives the ACC six of the past 14 national titles, and four active Hall of Fame coaches (Rick Pitino, Jim Boeheim, Roy Williams, Mike Krzyzewski). Multiple ACC national titles in the near future are not a possibility; they're an inevitability.

HOW LOUISVILLE HAS IMPROVED ITSELF:
Quote:A decade ago, when the ACC started this radical remake, the Cardinals were playing out the string in Conference USA and on the verge of a move to the Big East. Their football stadium seated 42,000 then, 55,000 now. Their basketball gym was a historic but outdated hulk on the state fairgrounds; now the downtown arena might be the best modern arena in America. Their non-revenue sports were upgrading; now they have arrived as a national power in baseball, men's soccer, swimming and others.

What happened?

He lived happily ever after.

Louisville's Bobby Petrino Excited To Join ACC | #Cards2ACC

Q: Did Louisville have a strong feeling on that when joining the conference, whether to go to 8 or 9 conference games?

Petrino: We were really behind playing eight conference games. You don't want to have the imbalance of 4 games at home and someone else having five games at home.

Guess we know where Louisville stands on the issue now.

Per Jurich on 790 this morning, he has three sets of football stadium expansion plans in hand. Johnson Group of Chicago are helping to determine the next steps.
