Poll: Americans Say Media Bias Biggest Problem In Politics… - EagleRockCafe - 05-31-2014 10:51 AM

But… but… but… Koch brothers!

Quote:Despite Sen. Harry Reid’s near-daily speeches about the “un-American” Koch brothers and the vast amount of money they give to the Republican Party – all while the Democrats take billions from other interest groups – Americans are still not convinced that campaign donations are the number one problem in politics right now.

That designation goes to media bias, according to 48% of the 1,000 likely voters polled for a Rasmussen Report. Big campaign contributions earned the #2 spot, with 44% of those polled.

Among people who identify as Tea Party members, media bias is an even bigger problem – 77% say it’s the number one issue.

I wonder how the Administration will spin this poll? President Obama says the media is stacked against him, but I’m fairly sure that the voters polled are not talking about right-wing media, but instead the misnamed “mainstream media;” NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and The New York Times spring to mind.

They are talking about the outright lies the right wing media puts out there. It's obvious to everyone who doesn't hold a bias. Rupert Murdoch is the King of yellow journalism. Too bad you can't see that.

The left will spin this by saying Fox must be the most biased media outlet because they have the most viewers.

Mach, not reporting news that puts Obama in a negative light is the same as lying. How often does MSNBC point out the biggest political lie of the year? Or how often do they report on the Obama scandals? It doesn't matter if you believe the scandals are real or bogus, but the fact that they're being investigated by congress is newsworthy. But let's keep talking about Bridgegate and how it tore down the entire country.

I'd argue that corporate money and lobbyists are the biggest problems in politics.

Corporate money is bad but forced union dues extorted from members are fine right?

I would say retarded voters that spend much more time in an average week watching American Idol (or whatever) than they do educating themselves on the issues is the biggest problem in politics.

If you believe this, then you really should educate yourself on politics a little bit more.

what a clever response. I think I will retort with the equally elegant, "I know you are, but what a I?" . . . or perhaps the equivalent, "I'm rubber, you're glue" would me more appropriate.

Corporate money pays for the media bias.

Media bias has also fostered this "Let's just do things to get on tv" culture right now. We see it with wannabe starlets, activists, and politicians alike.

Grandstanding is way more important than fixing problems on either side.

You obviously don't fit into that category.

You obviously have one because you didn't mention any other news source.

Why would he need to educate himself on politics when it's the American Idol crowd who can't name who the VP and House Speaker are?

so many don't give a shite anymore b/c they are behind the proverbial eight ball....you haven't figured that part out yet, have you?

it's funny how the percentage of those that can't, continues to increase and the thoughts of those that can, actually believe their thoughts matter.....I'm assuming you are in the 'can' camp....
