RE: Jax St. Whups Troy st. - Atlanta Trojan - 04-23-2014 10:02 PM

Took y'all how many years to do it?

Also when's the last time y'all whupped us in anything before this year? Guess tonight's win for y'all is like a SBC beating a SEC school. 03-drunk

Congrats tho... We lost a lot of talent last year due to draft and senoirs.

Who still has the "Old School Bell" Trophy? Oh, that's right good ol' TROY... And guess what? It has been sitting on LB's shelf collecting dust for years... Must suck to want to move up to D-1 FBS so bad, but can't because NO FBS Conference wants YOU!

When did beating a team by one run in extra innings start being classified as "whupping" them?

It's just something Troy and JSU use to say back and forth to each other in our rivalry days... JSU seems to use it much more than we do these days.

The marching Southerners of JSU STILL to this day say Whup Troy at their games... Even when they arnt playing us.

Poor ol' Jax State... No FBS conference wants to invite them to the party....03-lmfao

Charlie Pell started the phrase so it's a little tradition for JSU. Similar to GATA for GaSo.

JSU should make some T-Shirts and really market it. I think that would be a cooler shirt than the "Cocky" ones.

Who's won the most games?

You won like 3 or 4 more if you want to include the WW 2
Days...

Who won All of the games from
91-2000?

That ole school bell trophy has been sitting in our trophy cabinet since 1991 collecting dust while we have since won conference championships and bowl Trophies.

Who's begging to be in FBS and who is actually in it?

Keep being wannabes, Jax State.

If an invite was required at the time of your move Troy would be waiting with us. I will give your administration credit for foresight.

Jax State also has better football attendance on Troy.

Invites were required. The SBC was just much different in the early 00s... They lost NMSU, Utah State and were down to 7 teams I believe. Troy was ready and looking to move. Plus we were ranked #1 in the country at the time in FCS so we looked like a great add.

Back then markets didn't mean as much as they do now.

RE: Jax St. Whups Troy st. - Atlanta Trojan - 04-24-2014 11:20 AM

Last year Troy averaged 18,906 (this was down a little
From past 2 years due to a Black Friday game)

JSU averaged 15,814

Tied for 6th...really 7th. Only reason they are not tied for 8th is a rainout.
