Zero Respect for Sun Belt Conference - Cajuncat - 02-05-2014 07:06 PM
I have to vent...it really chaps my ass that ESPN fails to follow any or report on any Sun Belt Recruitment. We straight up out performed the other conferences this year and not a mention; zero press. I'm sorry, how many of our teams were bowl eligible this year? What was our record vs MWC, CUSA, MAC, etc? How many Bowl games did we lose? How does our conference attendance compare to others? The answer we outperform and we get no respect!
Is it just me that thinks this way? Do I need to suck it up and accept this crap?

I even saw espn report on 1-11 Southern Miss today.
We will keep doing what we are doing.... We got the extra 4million bucks they didn't.

Yes you will, we are still a young conference and ESPN is a homer for the SEC. In fact even their BIG 10 grown announcers have turned on the BIG 10. We just have to keep winning bowl games and OOC games. Pull off a few upsets and get a team ranked.
Either way just make sure the Bobcats win in OOC games.

I can deal with ACC, SEC, PAC, BIG 10, BIG 12; it's the others I have a problem with. Make sure the Cajuns win OOC games and get into the Playoff. Y'all have the depth coming back to do it.

Problem is no team in the SBC has done anything significant on a national level. To BEGIN earning respect, we need a team to crack the top 25 and beat sec/acc teams more frequently. If that happens the perception can quickly change.

Why the facepalm? The AAC was considered an auto access conference this year by the BCS. Of the others [MAC, CUSA, MWC and Sun Belt], the highest BCS ranking was the Sun Belt, per the BCS, not us.
I would say that that justifies the 'outperformed on the field' comment.

Everyone knew what the requirements were. Everyone had the same criteria. Sun Belt came out on top and got the bonus. Say congrats and move on.
