Republicans warned of this, but being the racists they are, nobody on the left listened.
Remember back when the Democrats tried to sell Obamacare to a skeptical citizenry as health care “reform” that would cost “only” $848 billion—far less than a trillion—over a decade? Indeed, that was the alleged 10-year gross cost of Obamacare’s coverage provisions, according to the Congressional Budget Office (see Table 3), when Harry Reid, Mark Pryor, Kay Hagan, Mary Landrieu, Al Franken, Mark Udall, Jeanne Shaheen, Mark Begich, Mark Warner, and the rest of the Democrats rammed President Obama’s signature legislation through the Senate on Christmas Eve without a single Republican vote. Well, now the CBO is out with a new report on Obamacare’s costs, and—sure enough—its 10-year price-tag now eclipses $2 trillion. To be more exact, the CBO now projects (see Table B-1) that the 10-year gross cost of Obamacare’s coverage provisions will be a cool $2,004,000,000,000.00.

CBO estimates are always ranges and the reported number is the median. Furthermore, CBO estimates are based upon the assumptions provided by the Congress, which are likely to have been wildly optimistic.
Therefore, I expect that the cost will likely be much higher (just like the estimated cost of Medicare was miscalculated years ago).

It also doesn't include the cost of funding more residency slots... something made virtually mandatory by the ACA, but not funded by it.

I call fabrics. It will be more than 2 trillion when the "reinsurance" part of this disaster kicks in. Watch people schit in their pants when they find out that the insurance companies are only liable for losses up to a certain threshold....then the taxpayer picks up the check.
I have 5 employees over the age of 40 that pay less than $60 per month after the subsidy for themselves and their spouse on a Silver BCBS plan. Someone please tell me how this nonsense is sustainable for any long term period. The cost are going to be simply astounding.

The insurance bailout is golden for 3 years. I see a huge insurance bailout for the next 3 years.

Valid point....but...when our budget dwarfs the size of the next 3 largest spenders? I have to question exactly WTF is going on. Ike warned us in his farewell address of the danger of having too much of our national product tied to the manufacture of products of defense. We failed to revert much of our manufacturing base back to the peaceful means and now have that manufacturing base driving policy.

We have reached the point when a large part of that defense spending is incurred to keep that industrial complex going instead of to defend the country.
