To be honest, I can understand why students don't make the games.

1. The arena is not on campus. They can't just roll out of bed and walk to the arena.
2. Not all of them have cars.
3. Our public transportation is awful. If they could take a well scheduled bus or train downtown attendance would be better. By the way, does the school charter buses from campus to the games? If so, all of excuses are moot.

Most students don't stay on campus that would imply they do have cars...But I assume you are talking about traditional students.

I don't know the true make up of the student body, but I assume quite a few live on, or very near campus. Honestly, it is a shame they must have cars to get around this place.

most students find a way to get to the grocery store, church, whatever the current happening hotspot club is. stop making excuses and just admit the rampant apathy and open up those seats to people who will pay for the priviledge

Yep, I was a student in 90's and we had great student attendance at the pyramid which was downtown. What's the excuse now?

Now that the arena is near beale street it should be more enticing to students compared to the pyramid in the pinch district.
