They look real menacing.....
Monday’s NOW with Alex Wagner on MSNBC started with some video footage of nuns singing songs to the elderly poor. But, judging by the discussion that ensued between Wagner and her two guests, you’d think the Little Sisters of the Poor were more intimidating than the Sopranos.
“The administration must now deal with this latest threat to the nation’s health care law: these ladies, the Little Sister of the Poor.”
That was MSNBC’s Wagner, who also actually said: “It seems this administration has bent over backwards to ensure that people can exercise their religion” and, “Women’s lives are being saved by provisions in the Affordable Care Act.”

Little Sisters of the Poor is not a charity, it is funded with taxpayer dollars.
No one is forcing them to do anything. They are simply having to comply with government standards if they wish to continue having the taxpayers pay for them to operate that facility. If they don't operate it, someone else will.

The only group you can be openly and unapologetically bigoted against in today's society, and even be praised for your bigotry, is against practicing Roman Catholics. Try replacing the word "Catholic" in many of the stories and quotes in today's media with a minority group and see how the respective sentence reads. The ACLU and left would have lawsuits on you so fast your head would spin. But say the same nasty things about a"Roman Catholic" and everyone sends you flowers and praise for your bigotry.
The left hates Catholics more than the worst racist hates any particular minority...but it is perfectly acceptable for the left to be openly bigoted without drawing anger or recrimination, and so they zealously go after Catholics. The left, and even many on the right openly lie about, distort, falsify and misinform about what the Christian Catholic faith is and is not about and believes.
The media on both sides regularly parade misinformed and fallen away catholics who have little to no understanding of the actual faith in the media to fraudulently claim wrong and invalid ideas which the Catholic church itself does not in fact hold or believe, all in the name of distorting and persecuting the faith for purposes of attempting to destroy it. They are afraid of true Catholics who understand their faith, so they seldom if ever give them a chance to speak.
Ironically, it is groups like these faithful and practicing Catholics, people who actually believe and follow the teachings of Christ, who are the last bastion to save America from the abominations of an atheistic and socialistic corrupt presidential administration and congress.
The largest religious denomination by population in America is Roman Catholics. The second largest is lapsed or "fallen away" catholics.

Taxpayers are in bed with charities like this because its a more efficient use of public money to help the poor. If the taxpayer thinks that they are owed something for a group like this practicing its mission then we have a fundamental issue in the workings of the arrangement.

The nuns contend that even signing a form stating their objection would result in employees obtaining contraceptive coverage, indirectly making the nuns responsible for such coverage.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Even if funded with taxpayer dollars, they do not forfeit their right to free practice of religion. Obama could try to go through the political process and get congress to defund them, but good luck with that.

The nuns are upholding their vow of following Christ's teachings. The law is against their vow. They cannot follow the law as they believe following God is the higher moral imperative. Therefore, they must disobey the law as it infringes on their supposedly Constitutionally-protected right to follow their faith. Separation of church and state--remember that one, liberals? I see nowhere that they receive any federal funds. However, hope they do.
Would be one of the few federal fundings that probably do a lot more good than most.
