I am a bit surprised that it is that small. I would have expected a spread in the 6-8 point range because the general public has probably heard a whole lot more about NIU football over the past couple of years than they have heard about UT football. Of course the bettors are better informed than the general public and the spread is catered to them so perhaps an opening 3 point spread makes sense given UT has the home field advantage.

If more info filters out on the availability of Fluellen, I'm sure there will more movement on the spread.

2011 show down was 63-60 NIU victory.
2009 Toledo 20-19
Toledo has the most MAC championships and has probably sent more players to the NFL then any other MAC team.

As your non-Rivals we hope to complete our first three win streak over you, go 12-0 and win the MACC the third straight year.
Toledo is the biggest threat remaining to a perfect season and possible back to back BCS invitation.
Would rather be playing Boise State in Boise then Toledo.
Hopefully this game will bring more glory to the MAC, like this years NIU/BSU match-up and the NIU/Toledo 63-60 2011 shoot out.
I am so glad that Bruce Gradkowski is not the Toledo QB and J.L. is the NIU QB.
