Who would you guys like as the future HC for UCF? - chrisiskingx - 07-06-2013 04:44 PM

I know O'Leary has a couple of years more on his contract, but many don't see him fulfilling the next two years, maybe even this year if we end on a good note.

Who would you guys like to see as the next HC if you could have an up and coming coach? I feel like since UCF has been a very Defensive team since the beginning of the GOL years so Kirby Smart could be a no brainer (no pun intended) If I could make any. Might not be realistic, but it'd be great to see a younger HC coach and staff on the recruiting trail (A la Taggart with USF).

I've liked Bryan Harsin for awhile. He's relatively unknown. He was the oc at Boise state, last years oc at Texas, and just took the hc job this year for Arkansas state. The trouble with guys that we'd really want like John Chavis or Kirby Smart is they'd be gone in no time after a bigger school snatched them up.

I have a feeling we'll be hiring from the inside. The contract extension is a formality, and O'Leary likely has an heir apparent.

Kirk Callahan? Taafe? We can't afford a lot of turnover, and we definitely need continuity.

I don't mind playing O'Leary ball, but we could definitely use some youth injected into the program for recruiting and drawing attention.

I hate that you're probably right, but although Taafe is a decent coordinator, he's not a good head coach. Check his record.

With what the university has to spend, I have to believe this is true.

Dear lord...Brent Key? As a recent alum, I'd have to hope that doesn't happen. It's got to be a splash...
