Looks like it is Aziah Hudson, Baldwin HS, Baldwin NY

I saw that. She is a 4 Star rated PG by ESPN.

Does anybody know why coach Mccray seems so inclined to recruit women whose first names begin with "A".

RE: Womens's Basketball recruiting - ziggy1 - 10-14-2017 03:19 PM

As far as I can tell, her other offers were Kansas, Hofstra, and Buffalo.

Just starting at the top of the list and working her way down. She's getting it done.

This is too funny with all the A players. Aziah sounds like a great get.

I don't care if they even have first names at all, as long as they can play! This year may be a rough one, but it looks to trend strongly up from here!

Aziah Hudson is the #83 best recruit in the country and has a 94 grade by ESPN and is a 4 star. Great pickup Nikki McCray.

ODU signs 5 for this class. Looks like quality talent all around! I'm really excited for the future of women's basketball at ODU!

Best in a while, and hopefully we now have a coach that can maximize that talent to its full potential.

Coach Nikki is off to a blazing start for the 2018 season, signing 5 new players, including Aziah Hudson who is in the Top 100 nationally. The recruits come from all over the country. Here’s the lowdown from the ODU site:

NORFOLK, Va. -- In her first season at the helm of Old Dominion women's basketball, head coach Nikki McCray-Penson signed five commits from the Class of 2018 to National Letters of Intent on Wednesday.

Has anyone heard whether Coach Nikki is looking to recruit any JUCO's ? We could use a couple 6'3" post players next year, and JUCO's don't have to sit for a season. I've heard that we can expect a few Transfers in the future as well, but unless they're grad students, will be required to sit a season.

I am looking forward to the future of ODU WBB. Coach Nikki is going to get it done.

Here's a great story about Amaya Register. Glad she is on board!

Nice find ziggy1. Great article. Sounds like a we have very special young lady joining the ranks. Looking forward to watching her play. The fact that players like Amaya want to play at ODU speaks volumes about the respect coach Nikki has earned in the world of women's basketball.

I agree with you. With Munoz leaving the team, that leaves us an open scholarship to find somebody. For next season, that will leave with us incoming freshman Adams at 6'0", walk on Hardin at 6'0", and freshman Dejah Carter 6'2". (I think Carly Brew will graduate)

A different link from ODU....

Shows Register choose ODU over UNC. And people were worried players wouldn't choose mid-major schools due to smaller coa. (cost of attendance) Glad to see that isn't the case. We need a good recruiter like Nikki... :-)
