Why?

Because we won't be bowl eligible and we need a postseason game.

Benson stressed how important a championship game is in terms of credibility, tv etc which got us to 11. Now he needs to finish the drill and umass may be the only option to make it happen.

JMU won't happen.
MO St is highly unlikely
UMass may be in an Idaho type situation needing a home.

People watch like 2 championship games on TV. SEC and whoever else is in the running for the National Title.

I'm talking specifically about recruits who are paying close attention to the schools they have offers from.

Recruits want to be on ESPN and sportscenter. If CUSA is on and we are not, that is an advantage.

There is some question as to whether the MAC will pull the trigger to either force UMass to bring all sports in or take its football elsewhere.

If that happened, then UMass might decide to park in the Belt on a temporary contract so they could stay in the A-10.

That's the thinking. We don't need UMass. We don't need JMU. We didn't need Idaho.

U Mass? This is a New England State right? The far Northeast. Hardly fits the footprint. Drop Idaho, and do not bring in U Mass. NMSU is a stretch but these two are just insane.
