Looks like every 30 characters in a link, the board software adds in a garbage character that breaks the link. Can that be fixed? Sites like Slate use long titles, so almost always require a link shortener.
E.g.
__www.slate.com/lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
http://www.slate.com/lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
If you click on the link (or view source of this page) you can see the garbage character that got added into the link, at a spacing of every 61 characters after the last slash.

Had a chance to look into this yet? The issue still exists -- there's a live example at this thread:

The mouseover of the link looks correct, and you can't see the problem just by clicking on the link (I guess Salon is resolving the bad link to just __http://www.salon.com/2013// immediately).
But if you view source, the link in the CSNbbs page is:
__http://www.salon.com/2013/05/07/sci_fi_icon_orson_scott_card_hates_fan_fiction_the_homosexua%E2%80%8Bl_agenda_partner/
It's supposed to be
__http://www.salon.com/2013/05/07/sci_fi_icon_orson_scott_card_hates_fan_fiction_the_homosexual_agenda_partner/
Again, some sort of garbage character(s) is being inserted after the 61st character after the last slash.
