NBR: Has the B'ham Touchdown Club died? If so, when? - BAMANBLAZERFAN - 02-21-2013 01:34 PM

I lost track of it during my divorce years and I am wondering what became of it. The last I heard, it was meeting at the Summit Club downtown.

Try going to Google and typing in "Birmingham Touchdown Club".

You could have an answer from Google faster than you could write the original post.

Jeez. Maybe he just wanted a discussion with some BlazerTalkers who attend Club meetings.

Or maybe the first link seems to be something called "over the mountain touchdown club" and he was wondering what's up.

One day the google search for "birmingham touchdown club" will have this thread as the top link. Future generations will stumble here and reach the unhelpful conclusion that they need to google it.

It's like when the top search for a tech problem finds you a forum post, of which the replies are "this is in the wrong forum" and "this was answered last month".

In the time it takes to complain about him not using google, you could have been helpful.

What's a google?

So, you're complaining about the complaining.

Except he is constantly coming on here asking simple questions that a quick search on the Internet would give him his answer. Usually he asks something that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Directing him to Google was being helpful.

Good question. I used to hear or read a lot about them in the late winter/early spring, but not in recent memory. I took a run at trying to find the info, too. This "OTM TD club" thing comes up, and there's something called the "touchdown club of birmingham", not sure if there is one and the same. I will ask Tim Melton or Scarbo.

By the way, I don't mind tossing a question out here that I know at times, doing an internet search might prove easier, but for the sake of stimulating dialogue with some of you here, is one reason why I do so.

And some of you have been more than glad to oblige.

Maybe Google has blocked him.

@BNBF: I just sent a "tweet" to Kevin Scarbinsky asking about the BTDC.

When I hear something back, I will be more than happy to share it with you here or by PM.

Actually, after asking here, I "googled" B'ham TD Club and I got my original entry here as an answer. NO HELP. The next entry was the Pell City TD Club and then other off topic entries. Sometimes "Google" is not the answer.

Was there an organization called the Birmingham Touchdown Club? The only one I was aware of in Birmingham proper was the Monday Morning Quarterback Club.

Yea, there's lots of questions on BlazerTalk that could be Googled for an answer, but where's the fun and social interaction in that?
