New Trustee - hooverblazer - 02-08-2013 11:06 AM

http://blog.al.com/wire/2013/02/ua_system_nominating_committee.html

Does anyone know how to read this one? From what I understand the trustee leaving, Angus Cooper, is ambivalent towards UAB. He wasn't out to get us, but also wouldn't bend over backwards for us.

I don't know anything about the new guy from Mobile. Could be a good sign that McMahon is the one that nominated him since McMahon is one of our documented supporters.

Until they select a UAB graduate, I have no reason to believe anyone they choose will be our supporter.

THIS!

RE: New Trustee - ATTALLABLAZE - 02-08-2013 11:33 AM

Same as it ever was.

Enough is enough.

RE: New Trustee - USAFBlazerFan - 02-08-2013 11:35 AM

Or is it not enough (UAB grads on the BoMTs, that is)?

At least they just reappointed a UAB graduate

Voting unanimously, the board recommended Harris Vaughan Morrissette to fill the vacancy created when Cooper, who serves as chairman and CEO of Cooper/T. Smith Corporation, a Mobile maritime shipping company, stepped down in September due to age restriction.

What is the age restriction?

Well, that is at least something, isn't it?

Cooper is 71, so I assume it's something like 70-72.

RE: New Trustee - Smaug - 02-08-2013 11:43 AM

Could just be poorly worded, and he's cycling out. They're limited to 3 terms.

RE: New Trustee - mixduptransistor - 02-08-2013 12:10 PM

According to the Tuscaloosa News, Angus was only 3 years into a six year term.

RE: New Trustee - hooverblazer - 02-08-2013 12:15 PM

They do have an age restriction that's around 70 years old. It seems odd though to appoint Cooper in the first place if he was going to exceed the age limit only 3 years into his term.

Bryant isn't too far from the age ceiling. They'll probably change that rule though when he gets close to it..

Yeah, they don't want to make the same "mistake" with junior that they made with da Bahr.

When this guy leaves the board we will get our stadium. Then it wouldn't have happened on his watch and his legacy is would be preserved.

Which is why I want it to start now. 03-hissyfit So that it would happen on his watch.

I believe Finis the Pinis is the bigger issue.

He wants to feel important now because when he was in Tuscaloosa they rejected him even though he was backed by the white machine.

Best I can tell the lead criminal (Bryant) is 68 or 69. Finding a bio is tough

I still think we should send him a giant jack-in-the-box once a week. And have someone follow him around playing the jack-in-the-box music the rest of the time. 05-stirthepot

Bryant and 69 should not be in the same sentence. 05-ban

I'm gonna have to go home and wash my brain out with Jager.
