I love our AD but she pissed me off with these comments. She needs to be working the phones and putting us in a conference with the tallest midgets. Nothing sexy about future add WKU. Just my opinion.

To my local SA UTSA...you guys needs to keep those thoughts to yourself for the time being. You've played organized FB for 2 years...nothing wrong with CUSA. Spend the next 5-10 years maturing in facilities and fanbase...there will always be opportunities. Just be ready to pounce. Telling fellow CUSA fans the league sucks and you're too good for it as a infant program comes off d!ckish even before playing the first game...

Agreed. We are in a geographically sensible conference with Texas teams and many that will kill us for the next few years. I think our metaphorical plates are full.

At least WKU has a pretty good bball program. All UTSA has is potential and a decent sized metro.

At least WKU has a pretty good bball program. All UTSA has is potential and a decent sized metro.
Over the years, I've seen some WKU NCAA games, where they were a solid team that could surprise many big boys. Loved it.

Nothing against WKU but I have zero interest in playing them. I don't think they add a viable TV market or have high academic standards or a rabid fan base. They do however have a fairly decent athletic program but since when does that matter.
I don't want UTSA to turn into a UNT. Satisfied being in a sunbelt (bottom tier) type conference. I prefer us to model USF.

I am very excited to be in cusa and have great respect for the Sunbelt teams coming in. For as much as people bash that conference, they have some Damn good teams that could compete with lots of teams. I think cusa is the perfect conference for utsa to get established and continue to build its program in all sports. We should be proud and thankful to have moved up to the fbs level so quickly and to a good conference like cusa. I figured we would be stuck in the southland at fcs level for at least 5 to 6 yrs. Again, very excited to be here with you guys and can't wait until July 1 when we are all official.

The Sun Belt was 8-2 against CUSA this past year. A CUSA team's fan taking shots at any Sun Belt team, much less a future CUSA team's fan with one year of FBS play, is just beyond ridiculous.

Yea. These folks need to just be glad that we are here. No need for them to come off cocky because realistically, we're looking at around 3 to maybe 4 wins next yr if that. Those first 4 out of conference games will be insane for us especially.
We will be a doormat for the next couple of yrs.

The Sunbelt is known as the bottom of all FBS conferences. If you think otherwise you are a fool. Are they competitive yes but that doesn't negate the stigma with that conference. Excuse me if I'm not happy that CUSA is quickly turning into the Sunbelt. Seems like everyone including our commish is ok being the shortest midget. Feels like the WAC all over again.
As for the academic comment, UTSA has horrible academics that wasnt my point. The point is what does WKU have to offer as a future member? They aren't Rice, they don't offer a market like UNT and they don't have a fan base like ODU.
I'm not happy adding new conference members that will only be another mouth to feed.
