Kilpatricks performance tonight, where does it rate? - BearcatDave - 12-19-2012 09:40 PM

I was wondering where you think Kilpatricks performance tonight rates in terms of UC Players performance in a Crosstown shootout?

I had to listen on my drive home, was glad I could pick up 700WLW in Wisconsin.

I was trying to think of some of the clutch performances in a Crosstown shootout, I think his had to be one of the best.

He didn't play any more special then he usually does. Honestly, he took way too many bad shots. I think SK was trying a little to hard to force things. Thankfully, even when he doesn't play spectacularly he still a damn good player.

Meh. He missed a ton of shots. But he played very hard.

Watching it on TV, I would say that SK clearly lead the team to a win which is most important in this game. And it was obvious, that was the game plan by Mick since X did not match up well with SK. To me, the MVP of the night was shared between 'Team Defense' and 'Rebounding'.

Huggs would preach that a team can have an off night shooting (which we did), but defense and rebounding are effort related and should never disappear. This version of the Crosstown was the perfect example of that fundamental.

Not his best game...but he did what he had to and you could tell he wanted this one bad.

He shot the ball 27 times tonight. Not a great shooting night for him, but props to him for playing hard and attacking the basket in the second half. He rebounded well tonight. Gates game from two years ago was one hellavu performance.

what's up with his Ft shooting lately?

Without SK UC loses but I don't think it was his best game as a Bearcat.
SK, Wright and Parker put up 51 of UCs points. That trio has the chance to be something special.

During SK's redshirt year, Mick said he may be the best scorer on the team. At the time I thought he was crazy. Once again he has proven me wrong. Congrats Coach Cronin.

It was an Allen Iverson type stat line - not very efficient, but got the job done. He's too good of a scorer to go 36-84 (9-32 3pt) in the last 5 games. It's time for him to step up and play like he's capable... aka the BE POY.

You have to take the bad with the good with S K. The stat line isn't always pretty, but he'll have those runs and moments when he carries the team. And then moments when he's killing the team. Hopefully he starts limiting the bad.

Best Shootout performance was Fortsen. Off the top of my head, I was at the Gardens and I think he scored 40 pts and grabbed 17 rebounds, but someone can look it up for me. I gotta go to work.

Kila is the only guy on this team who is capible of ripping off a 8 point run on his own. Thats exactly what he did during that crucial run to start the second half which effectively ended the game. This wasn't a vintage performance for Kila in terms of shooting, but then again no one shot the ball that well last night. Its easy to tell that players from both teams were unaccustomed to the sight lines.

That arena seems to make best shooters go cold. Just about every game outside of the Notre Dame game a few years ago is an ugly shooting night.

Agreed, shooters seem to have trouble there. Didn't Joe Stiffend nail a buzzer beater there to beat Ugzavier?

I agree on the shooting in USB. The background doesn't help with
the depth. Obviously the teams don't practice there daily, but
it always seems like brick city.

Yes he did. I was sitting at the press table for the News Record.

Cashmere Wright is still on the team right?

I believe Cash had a 9 point run in the second half of the Marshall game earlier this week.
