Here is my problem with Minium and I've texted him about it numerous times. His twitter name says Harry_minium ODU
So when he posts something is he talking for himself or as an official representative of ODU?
Is he sending up trial ballons to guage fan reaction for Selig or does he have a personal opinon?
His tweet certainly sounds like he is justifying closing the season down. Is this at Seligs request? Trying to soften us up?
Either way I'd like him to create his own personal account.

I don't know from Adam but I suspect he's aware that he's tweeting under the auspices of his employer and that he wouldn't contradict them directly. So a tweet like this gives us three options:
1. He forgot he was representing ODU (highly unlikely)
2. He's floating an idea that's bounced around the AD and possibly the president's office to see what sort of reaction it gets; the school in theory then has plausible deniability if it cheeses off the conference office or any of its members because hey, he was just voicing an opinion
3. Selig and/or Broderick are letting/encouraging him to do this to let him retain a sense of editorial independence and make themselves look like the magnanimous, independent minded AD, that he'd be allowed to hold contrary opinions. That's a little too conspiracy theory for me
So probably 2. FWIW, if he had a personal twitter it wouldn't matter because if he used it to started talking about politics or religion or what ODU should do in football or conference affiliation, well, everyone knows who he works for, not having it in his Twitter handle doesn't change anything. I, like you, also take a little pause when he RTs or posts something that I don't know someone speaking with the school's voice should be doing.

Interesting. He pops up on my feed from time to time but it's always been ODU news. Maybe he promotes it. I've never actually gone to his feed so I must be missing that. I do remember he RT'd some Kerry Dougherty tweets.
I'm sure both parties are happy with their arrangement but that seems a little dicey for me. I work for a news-gathering organization and I go to great lengths to ensure that nothing I do under my IRL name endangers our well-earned reputation for non-partisan reporting. I have only a handful, maybe a handful and a couple of fingers, of Twitter followers but even so, all it takes is one poorly considered collection of 280 characters to make everything turn pear-shaped. Harry's 20 times the reporter I ever was or will be, but I hope he treads lightly. Unless he's at the point in his career where it's doesn't faze him and he can leave whenever he pleases.

Of course, that goes without saying. But, my guess, the kids want to play if the schools can make it safe to do so. If not, then cancel.

He definitely has tweeted/retweeted some political stuff. Not all the time, but he leans one way for sure. And he's done it since he started his job at ODU.
