They did the same with @FIU. They know they cannot use lowercases in an abbreviation. So, to make it work, they should've used the full name.

Or maybe the "at" might help us figure it out... 07-coffee3
All in all a good schedule. I agree with some of you good folks that we could go bowling with this one even if we need the 7 wins to do it.
04-cheers

NC State declined to approve moving our game with them to Friday night for national TV.

That sucks, but the reasoning makes sense.

I also heard the Canadian streaker has a previous commitment that night.

This past week the ACC released times and networks for the first three weeks of the 2015 season. On Sept. 19th, the NC State at ODU and the Va. Tech at Purdue game are the only games that week without an assigned time and network. The explanation is that these games are "controlled by the home team's conferences." Wonder when we'll be getting an announcement from C-USA about the times and networks for the first three weeks of 2015.

Hope they aren't at the same time. We need our NCSU game to be televised state wide. That won't happen if VT is playing at that time.

Any guesses on who will be the third FBS OOC team added for the 2017 season? I do know it'll be a home game and the start of a H/H series.

since it has a good chance of being Sun Belt or MAC I'll say Ga Sou or Kent State (just guesses - it really could be any MAC school b/c they are all the same to me). perhaps ECU or another AAC school.

Penn St.

RE: ODU Football Future OOC Schedules - Monarchist13 - 05-18-2015 08:33 AM

Hopefully one with a campus or city worth visiting. Ohio, Miami of Ohio, Texas State, and Georgia Southern would all fit that category for myself. But we've done the Southern trip, would not mind a new locale.

Ga. Southern is nice because it's so close to Savannah, but that T/O doe. lol

I'd like to see Temple, USF, UConn, Ohio or either GSU. Or just extend the ASU series. I think ECU is booked for a while. That one is the biggest no brainer of the future.

ECU and Navy should both be no brainers at some point.

UConn or Cincy would bother be cool/different for some variety. maybe Rutgers or MD too on a larger level, but I doubt they'd agree to a H/H with us at this point.

Navy will never happen as an OOC unless Army and Air Force join the American. As it stands, they have three of their four OOC games spoken for in perpetuity (Army, Air Force, Notre Dame). There'd be a better chance of ODU playing Navy as an in-conference game down the line.

RE: ODU Football Future OOC Schedules - monarchoptimist - 05-18-2015 02:05 PM

ECU is a possible option but you'd think they would fill their schedule with a FCS team. ECU is home against Virginia Tech & BYU and @WVU for 2017. Only one spot left but it could be an away opening if they go the FBS route.

In 2018, they are home against UNC and @ Virginia Tech so far.

They could play @ ODU in 2017 and then host ODU in 2018.

What about Rutgers?

RE: ODU Football Future OOC Schedules - CameramanJ - 05-18-2015 04:08 PM

Rutgers sounds like someone we would schedule.

RE: ODU Football Future OOC Schedules - devyanks90 - 05-18-2015 05:39 PM

Temple although they have 2 2017 away non-conference games already. We recruit New Jersey enough that we should visit the general area. Rutgers doesn't have room for an away game (9 game Big 10 schedule) until 2022.

RE: ODU Football Future OOC Schedules - odusteeler - 05-18-2015 06:48 PM

I could see any number of Northeastern schools, simply because we recruit there so much. Syracuse, UConn, Temple, Rutgers, BC, Pitt, Buffalo, Army, etc. I think it's where they believe they have the best shot - both to recruit & compete on the field.

I'm kind of surprised ODU hasn't set up a home-and-home with Army. They recruit the area, they're a winnable-but-not-overwhelmable opponent (except for that damnable option), and even though Norfolk's a Navy town, there's still a pretty respectable Army presence in the region.

Maybe they've tried and it hasn't come to fruition yet.
