On the ODU website, they list the tuition for 2016-2017 as good through the spring semester, which tells me this is a policy change to have the increases beginning with Maymester.

I guess on the plus side, I found out that the new engineering dean is planning a maker space inside the old education building. Apparently the plan is to rival what is at VT and GT.

I was able to go into the new education building a couple weeks ago, and I took some pictures. I was really impressed, it's a nice building.

Cool pics. It reminds me that the arms that jut out (not sure what to call them but they're towards the top of front entrance of the Ted) really need a new coat of paint. They appear badly discolored in person.

Last summer the school invited a bunch of Vets to talk about how the school could do better. They asked me if I was in charge for 1 day what I would do. Me still somewhat fresh from the Navy told the Dean that they need to get people out there and paint. Some habits die hard I guess.
It's not just the Ted. The research buildings also have the same issue.

There have been some changes.
1) The new art building was not planned for and things are being moved as a result.
2) There is going to be a new child study building. (Posted a few pages back)
3) Stadium stays where it is. Changes the housing situation quite a bit.
4) Since the new stadium is staying where it as, odds are the new parking garage that was to be built over the tennis courts is going to change. (It would have provided parking close to the new stadium)
On a side note, Mr. Harnage retires this July. He has been a major driving force if not THE driving force for the campus expansion / upgrades.
I've heard he has lots or real-estate on campus (classroom spaces and such) that he uses for who knows what. There is a growing list of people lining up for the land grab. This may very well likely change the campus plan and/or bring about new programs to ODU. I know of a few professors looking to get some more lab space and already have a "shopping list" made up.

HRT is hosting a study meeting next Tuesday at 5 at Slover to discuss the expansion of the Tide. Now is the time to voice your opinion on the need or not, and how the extension could affect your neighborhood, Norfolk and ODU.

They should have run the tide to ODU and the Naval base the first time. If they could make a loop from the airport to downtown and then on to ODU and the base that would be amazing!
