How the Winner of the Election Will Destroy America - Jugnaut - 11-06-2012 08:46 PM Link "As you read this now, the new President of the United States is being “chosen” or has been chosen. Whoever the “winner” happens to be is ultimately irrelevant. They do not count. They are mascots. Middle management cronies running through the motions to distract the masses while enacting the policies of their superiors. They are fry cooks serving greasy overpriced democracy with no real sustenance. What does matter, though, is what comes next. I’m sorry to say that the idea that one man will do less damage than the other is a naïve sentiment. Democrat? Republican? Obama? Romney? The crimes and calamities wrought will be exactly the same. Take a look into my crystal ball and see the future. Here is how the winner will destroy America…" RE: How the Winner of the Election Will Destroy America - Owl 69/70/75 - 11-06-2012 09:05 PM I tend to agree. I guess that's why I'm really not that excited about this. Four years ago, I was really terrified by the election of Obama. I still find him terrifying, but pretty much neutered so long as republicans control at least one house of congress. We're on the wrong track, and neither of these guys has even sniffed getting us back on course. RE: How the Winner of the Election Will Destroy America - Fort Bend Owl - 11-06-2012 09:19 PM I wish more states would follow California's lead and create independent groups to do the re-district maps for drawing up House seats. The way they do it in Texas is crazy and I really believe that partisan politics is one thing that alienates a ton of votes across the country. I heard of another thing California is considering that is interesting - not sure if it's good or bad - is they might have the two highest vote getters in the primaries run against each other in the general election. So if the two top vote-getters in a senate primary race are both Republicans, they run in the general election with no Democratic candidate. Or vice-versa. I might have heard that wrong but that's what I heard on the radio today on POTUS (Sirius-XM). See Berman vs Sherman in the San Fernando Valley. Both are incumbent Ds whose districts were re-drawn.
